Howard Lynn Horner, a God-loving man, devoted family man, and loving husband to Marilynn (Whitson) Horner for 41 wonderful years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Howard lived a full and faithful life centered around his love for the Lord, his family, and the many friends and neighbors blessed to know him.
Born on September 28, 1940, in Manila, Arkansas, Howard was the beloved son of Lloyd and Faye Horner. From an early age, he carried a strong work ethic, a kind heart, and a deep appreciation for people and community. Howard had a lifelong love of automobiles and enjoyed the many friendships and stories that came from a life spent around cars, mechanics, and the open road.
Howard was known for his quick wit, warm humor, and the easy way he could make family and friends laugh. A faithful member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church, Howard loved his church family deeply and lived his life grounded in faith, kindness, and service to others.
Throughout his life, Howard built a successful career around automobiles and mechanics, industries he truly loved. He owned an automobile sales business and later a Snap-on Tools business before advancing into management with Snap-on, eventually rising to the position of field manager. Howard was respected for his hard work, leadership, and the genuine way he connected with people wherever he went.
Howard was preceded in death by his son, Casey Horner. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Marilynn Horner; his loving sons, Scott Horner and Chad Horner; stepdaughters Laurinda, Donna, and Rachael; along with cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large extended family who were the joy and pride of his life.
Howard will be missed dearly by his extensive family, friends, church family, and the community in which he lived such a full and happy life. His steady faith, big heart, warm smile, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Manila Cemetery in Manila, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
