Part 1 — Last week, we had a visit from four six-week-old kittens! One of our preschoolers had her last day with us before kindergarten. Her wish for her last day at Generations was to bring her kittens to share with her friends and grandfriends! Needless to say, it was a hit. 😻 Each of these four playful kittens took a "cat nap" with one of our residents. Lots of playtime and snuggles with the toddlers, too! Part 2 to come, with the kittens visiting the preschool class!

Last week we welcomed the Greater Mankato Area Therapy Dog group to Generations! Four of their volunteers brought their dogs in for a visit, and our residents loved spending time with the animals. Special thanks to Withers, Wren, Lucy, Juno, and their owners for the special morning! It was therapeutic for residents & staff alike! 🤎

This rainy afternoon called for a warm cup of tea! Today's tea party to celebrate August birthdays was extra special for a couple of reasons. First, the teacups, saucers, teapot, and servingware were all gifted to Generations by one of our residents and her family. It's incredibly meaningful to get to honor her through using these special dishes intentionally! Prior to filling her teacup, she held the teacup and saucer in her hands and we talked about them. Such special memories. 🫖🤍
Second, next week the residents will be decorating sun hats, and the tea party seemed like the perfect opportunity to try them on! The fancy hats were the perfect addition to our afternoon tea. 👒💚
