Surgery Day!

Two surgeries today, including a robotic hysterectomy. Both patients did well, and I’m grateful for another safe day in the operating room. 🙏🏾

One conversation today stayed with me.

One of my patients shared that her positive experience in our office, along with following my social media posts, gave her the confidence to have her surgery here in Marion instead of traveling to a larger city.

I’ll admit… hearing that meant a lot.

Many people assume that excellent surgical care only exists at “big hospitals.” While some conditions absolutely require specialized tertiary care, many surgeries can be performed safely and successfully close to home by experienced surgeons and dedicated healthcare teams.

My goal has never been to convince anyone to stay local. My goal is to educate, earn trust, and help each patient make the decision that’s right for them.

Thank you to every patient who places their trust in us. It is a privilege and a responsibility that I never take for granted.

If you’ve ever had surgery, what mattered most when choosing your surgeon or hospital? Was it a recommendation from family or friends, your doctor’s referral, online reviews, location, social media, or something else? I’d love to hear what influenced your decision.

Look what’s back: Monday morning!

Today, I won’t be climbing the Empire State Building, competing in the World Cup, or ringing the opening bell on Wall Street.

Instead, I’ll be doing something I genuinely love.

I’ll be caring for women, teaching residents, encouraging the next generation of physicians, and hopefully making someone’s day a little better than I found it.

Not every calling makes headlines, but every calling has the power to change a life.

I’m grateful I’ve found mine.

What’s yours?

Let’s go! 💪🏾

Just in case you’re wondering what I would write if I climbed the Empire State Building… 😂

“Moms, give yourself some grace.”

What’s one thing you’ll give yourself grace for this week?

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday. ❤️

🇺🇸 Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

More than 25 years ago, I left my country of birth and came to the United States as an immigrant with one small suitcase. But I also brought big dreams, a strong faith, and the hope of building a better future.

This country gave me opportunities I could only imagine. It is here that I went to the university and later medical school, met my beautiful wife, became the father of wonderful children, built a fulfilling career serving women and families, and found a community I’m honored to call home.

The American Dream isn’t just something I’ve heard about. It’s something I’ve been blessed to live.

I’m grateful to God for His faithfulness, grateful to the brave men and women whose sacrifices have preserved the freedoms we enjoy, and grateful to call this incredible nation home.

May God continue to bless the United States of America.

What are you most thankful for about America today? 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day… and Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸

🥵 Heat waves are tough on everyone, but pregnancy makes your body work even harder.

A few simple habits, like staying hydrated, avoiding the hottest part of the day, and recognizing warning signs, can go a long way toward helping you and your baby stay safe.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and take care of yourself this summer. ☀️🤰🏾💙

Welcome to our newest Family Medicine residents! 👏🏾🎉

Yesterday marked the beginning of residency for these new physicians at Marion Health.

Residency is where medical school graduates become confident, independent physicians. It’s where knowledge is refined into judgment, skill, and experience.

Training residents isn’t easy. It takes time, patience, and a team committed to teaching while delivering excellent patient care. But it’s one of the most rewarding investments we can make because today’s learners become tomorrow’s physicians.

A heartfelt thank you to the attending physicians, nurses, medical assistants, office staff, labor & delivery team, OR staff, and everyone else who plays a role in shaping these young doctors.

And a special thank you to our patients. When you say, “Yes, the resident can be involved in my care,” you’re doing far more than allowing someone else into the room. You’re helping educate the next generation of physicians. Your “yes” is a gift that will benefit countless future patients you’ll never meet.

Welcome to Marion. We’re glad you’re here. 💙👩🏾‍⚕️👨🏾‍⚕️

PS: Help us give them a warm Marion welcome by leaving a word of encouragement in the comments!

Congratulations and welcome!

Successful surgery day today.

One of the things I enjoy most about OB/GYN is the variety.

Today included several different procedures, including a robotic hysterectomy.

Every surgery is different. Every patient has a different story. But the goal is always the same:

Relieve pain.
Improve quality of life.
Help someone get back to living.

And sometimes…

…a uterus has simply served its purpose and decided its new full-time job is causing problems.

(See photo #2. 😅)

Grateful for a great OR team and for the privilege of taking care of these women.

Question:

Have you ever known someone whose quality of life dramatically improved after a hysterectomy?

Monday morning.

After a week away from the office, it’s good to be back.

A refreshed mind. A full schedule. And one of our residents is returning for another OB/GYN rotation.

One of the greatest privileges of this profession is that every day brings two opportunities: caring for today’s patients and helping prepare tomorrow’s physicians.

Medicine is always moving forward, and I’m grateful to play a small part in both journeys.

Here’s to a new week filled with learning, serving, and making a difference.
