Center Street Community Health Center, in partnership with Marion
City Schools, is expanding access to high-quality healthcare by bringing school-based health services
directly to students, staff, and families.
The School-Based Health Center will provide convenient access to services such as preventive care,
immunizations, physical exams, sports physicals, treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, medication
management, and support for chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes.
“At Center Street Community Health Center, we believe healthy students are better positioned to attend
school, remain engaged in the classroom, and reach their full potential,” said Audrey Cobb,
CFO/COO. “This partnership is about more than providing healthcare—it is about creating a healthier
school community and removing barriers that can prevent students and families from accessing the
care they need.”
“Student wellness and academic success are directly connected,” stated Marion City Schools
Superintendent Brian Murphy. “Providing convenient access to healthcare through this center is
another way to support the whole child—reducing absences, managing ongoing health needs, and
ensuring our students are healthy, in school, and ready to learn. We are excited about what this
partnership will mean for our students, families, staff and community.”
Audrey Cobb, emphasized the importance of being integrated into the school community: “We know
that families are busy, transportation can be difficult, and getting appointments during the school day
can be a challenge. Our goal is to make healthcare accessible and convenient, supporting students and
families where they are.”
A parent or guardian must provide consent before a student can receive services. Services will be billed
to insurance similarly to traditional healthcare providers, with sliding fee discounts available for
qualifying families.
"We would love to become a healthcare home for families who need one, but we also understand that
many already have a strong relationship with their primary providers, " said Audrey. "We aren't trying
to replace those relationships; we want to be another resource."
“This partnership started with a simple conversation,” Murphy said. “Now, we are close to opening
the doors and making a meaningful difference for Marion’s students, families, and community.”
