Finding peace at the bedside of a loved one can be challenging. Scripture offers profound comfort during end-of-life care.

When a loved one is nearing the end of their journey, finding moments of peace and comfort for everyone involved is so important. For many families, familiar Bible passages can be a profound source of solace and strength. The gentle rhythm and powerful words can soothe hearts, even when cognition declines, offering a deep sense of grace.

Consider these comforting messages:
๐Ÿ’™ Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, โ€œDo not fear, for I am with you; I will strengthen you and help you.โ€
๐Ÿ’™ John 14:27 offers a gift of โ€œpeace of mind and heartโ€ that transcends earthly worries.
๐Ÿ’™ And the beloved Psalm 23, โ€œThe LORD is my shepherd... Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me,โ€ brings deep reassurance.

These passages can be read aloud, placed on cards nearby, or simply held in your heart. Our ViaQuest Hospice team understands the comfort that spiritual care brings and is here to support your family's needs, offering grace during these tender moments.

๐Ÿ’™ Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Ehlora!

For years, Ehlora has been using her talents to serve others, and today she continues that mission as a remote administrative volunteer for ViaQuest Hospice from her home in Arizona.

From creating newsletters to helping with events and organizing projects, her behind-the-scenes support helps keep our volunteer program running smoothly.

The best part? You don't have to live nearby to make a difference. Whether you live down the street or across the country, there are meaningful ways to support our mission through remote administrative projects and other volunteer opportunities.

Thank you, Ehlora, for your long-time commitment, creativity, and heart! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿพ Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Nellie ๐Ÿ’•

A gentle presence can bring incredible comfort.

Nellie is one of our cherished therapy dog volunteers serving patients in our Somerset and Monongahela, Pennsylvania offices. Through every visit, she offers companionship, reassurance, and a calming presence that helps brighten the day for patients, families, and staff.

Her quiet kindness is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful support doesnโ€™t require words. Itโ€™s simply about being there.

Thank you, Nellie, for sharing your loving spirit and for making such a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. We are so grateful to have you as part of the ViaQuest Hospice family.

Is your loved one experiencing visions or speaking of deceased family? These spiritual signs can bring comfort and peace.

The end of life is a profound and sacred journey, not just physically, but spiritually. While we often focus on the physical changes, understanding the spiritual signs can transform fear into gentle acceptance for families.

Many families share stories of loved ones experiencing beautiful visions, speaking of deceased relatives, or sensing a comforting presence, sometimes even describing it as an angel. These "end-of-life visions" are often a deeply peaceful and comforting experience for the person, offering a unique language of closure and connection. Itโ€™s a sacred time where the spirit seems to prepare for its next step.

What can you do when your loved one experiences these moments?
๐Ÿ’™ Be a loving, comforting presence.
๐Ÿ’™ Speak softly and reassuringly, reminding them you are there.
๐Ÿ’™ Maintain a gentle, familiar routine to provide stability.
๐Ÿ’™ Avoid forcing food or drink, understanding itโ€™s a natural process.

Our patients often tell us they wish they had started hospice care sooner. This allows our team to support not just physical needs, but also these profound spiritual moments, ensuring dignity and comfort through it all.

Have you or a loved one experienced these spiritual moments? We'd be honored if you'd share your thoughts gently.

Our compassionate team is here to support your family through every step of this sacred journey, 24/7. Learn more about our care: https://viaquesthospice.com/insights/

Those hours represent conversations shared, hands held, veterans honored, office support provided, therapy dog visits, and countless moments of compassion.

To every volunteer, thank you for helping us make a difference, one visit at a time.

Life is a little sweeter around the campfire. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿซ

Residents at Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center, LLC recently enjoyed a fun evening making s'mores, sharing stories, and spending time together. Sometimes it's the simplest moments that become the sweetest memories.

How do you make the perfect s'more? Golden brown or extra crispy? ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Sometimes plans change, but supporting our partners never does.

Our Meet the Team event at Clinton House Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center was postponed when the state survey team arrived earlier than expected. Even so, we wanted to show our appreciation by dropping off lunch for their incredible staff.

We're wishing the Clinton House team a smooth and successful survey. Thank you for the compassionate care you provide to your residents every day. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿพ Volunteer Spotlight: Diana & Jack ๐Ÿ’™

Some volunteers leave paw prints on our hearts.

Meet Diana and her lovable pet therapy dog, Jack, an incredible duo serving our Muncie community. Together, they bring comfort, companionship, and joy to hospice patients through every visit.

Dianaโ€™s compassion, dedication, and servantโ€™s heart shine in everything she does. Alongside Jack, she also supports our We Honor Veterans program, helping ensure those who served our country receive the recognition and gratitude they deserve.

Thank you, Diana and Jack, for sharing your time, your kindness, and your hearts with the patients and families we serve. You truly make a difference.

๐Ÿ’™ Help us thank Diana and Jack in the comments!
