Sunday Funday was a HIT last weekend! 🛼☀️ Big thanks to everyone who came out to make it such a great time for our youth.

A special shoutout to Safe Kids Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation for donating helmets to keep our kids safe while they had fun. 🪖

We're also so grateful to Kansas Alliance for Tribal Community Health and Boys & Girls Club of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation for their generous monetary donations and for allowing us to be a part of this spectacular event!

Thank you all for investing in our youth and our community. We couldn't do it without you! 💙

PBPN Annual Youth GONA (Gathering of Native Americans) was one for the books! 🔥

A huge thank you to Shades of Thorpe Executive Director, Myltin Bighorn, for collaborating with us this year! And a special thanks to all of this year's donors, helpers, & cooks! Your generosity and hard work fed and supported the youth all week long, and we couldn’t have done this without you. ✨

And to every young person who participated- thank you for showing up and taking healthy risks. See you next year!

✨Sometimes you don’t realize how much your spirit needed something until it’s time to leave. Yesterday may have been the last day for GONA, but the work doesn’t end there. Until we meet again… have a great school year!!✨

Hey friends!
Due to the chance of rain, tomorrow GONA will be held at the Old Bingo Hall instead of Prairie Peoples Park. We will keep you posted of any changes.

We have tons of prizes waiting for you to take a healthy risk! 🤘🏽

Ending Remarks on the TLC journey,

Here is the quick collage and recap of our journey! This is just the one of MANY!

To say we’re proud of these youth is such an understatement. Our future as a community is bright with the opportunities we have and what the youth do with said opportunities!

I hope these guys had fun! It was such a fun and cool experience. Thank you again Boys & Girls Club of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation for allowing Youth Wellness Services to help out with is amazing journey 🤩

I cannot wait for next year!!

Part 3 of the TLC Journey,

Even though the youth were busy with their project presentation, meeting at the US capitol, having fun with the Boys & Girls Club organization…

We got to fit in a lot of sight seeing! The youth went to Smithsonian’s, monuments, TONSSS of walking (family of youth, allow them to sit down for a day 😅🤣)

We ofc got our shopping in and of course I had the pleasure to constantly say “okaaaaay crew picture time” at least 500x a day 🤩🤩
