After a very successful used clothing giveaway for babies and children last month - Catholic Social Services in Hazleton will hold another event this month on June 16.

This past weekend, several members of the Directions team enjoyed a special employee appreciation getaway at The Haven Resort in upstate New York. This trip was our way of recognizing staff members who consistently go above and beyond for our agency, their teammates, and the individuals we service.

At Direction, we value employees who willingly step up, support one another, and put in extra effort to ensure our clients continue receiving the care and services they need. To show our appreciation, we honored these dedicated team members with a memorable trip to The Haven. Those who were unable to join were provided with gifts cards and bonuses.

The staff had an incredible experience, including the unique opportunity to wake up alongside lions and tigers and enjoy time together outside of work.

A special thank you to everyone who volunteered to take on additional responsibilities, covered for colleagues during leaves of absence, and worked hard to ensure clients were supported every step of the way. Your dedication, teamwork, and commitment do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for all that you do.

Hunter spent the day out seeing and interacting with animals, getting to experience how massive and high up a tractor is and making some food which allowed him to practice his knife skills.

Star had a great time on her work assessment at Stonewall Farm. She has felt for some time that she’d like to work with animals but lacked some exposure. While at the farm she embraces every opportunity from parking a trailer on an ATV to mucking stalls to feeding animals she was all in! She even got to hold and give some scratches to a turkey! Despite being new to most of the animals she did a great job and showed no fear but followed all safety instructions. Awesome! A big thank you to Meagan for thinking out of the box to give as many opportunities to try a variety of things.
