Spotted! Some inclusive content by Curious George ! Thank you for representing kids of all abilities and helping parents teach their kids that wheelchairs are just a way some kids get around. And also that they have the best Halloween costumes! This is from “It’s Halloween, Curious George!”

What are some children’s books you love that show a variety of ways we can get around? Name drop in the comments! ⬇️

I wanted to take a moment to jump on here and reintroduce myself...my name is Jenna Raheb, and I'm a pediatric physical therapist. I started Raheb Physical Therapy with the mission to provide the highest quality care for patients and families, while also meeting them wherever they are at in their healthcare and parenting journey. The best part of my job is having the privilege to support parents, especially during very difficult times in their parenting journey.

The Raheb PT team works hard to provide a service that makes sense for families of different schedules, cultures, and values. We want to be the trusted providers that you turn to for not only your PT needs, but also to navigate the complex healthcare system we live in.

We're also excited to offer free playgroups for families which has become our way of supporting more caregivers in the community, especially moms during the early postpartum period. And stay tuned...because we've got more in the works.

If you're looking for more information about our practice, or you're wondering if we are the right fit for you, book a free discovery call at rahebpt.com/contact. We're excited to hear from you!

Today’s provider spotlight….Danielle Ben-David, MPH, PD, CLC, the owner and founder of Chickadee & Hen. Whenever someone needs a postpartum doula, Danielle is the first one I think of. She is certified as a postpartum doula and lactation counselor. She is amazing with babies and their families, and is so passionate about her work. She is an amazing resource for families, and truly an expert in her field.

I also highly recommend her Postpartum Mom Group, a group that meets weekly on Tuesdays in Natick. Danielle invites a variety of experts on infant development and postpartum recovery to come each week. It’s also an amazing opportunity to connect with local moms.

Alternative Drive Control Evaluation and Selection: Technology for Individualized Solutions

You can attend for free, and CEU is available for a $15 fee to comply with federal anti-kickback regulations.

Target Audience: OTs, OTAs, PTs, PTAs, ATPs, Medical Suppliers/providers, Physicians

Course Overview: For many individuals, a standard joystick allows for independent and efficient operation of their power wheelchair, but for others, the use of additional types of drive controls is not only necessary to meet their mobility needs, but can promote health, maximize their independence with daily activities, and integrate alongside other technology.

In this course, we will give clinicians and providers a framework to aid in the evaluation, selection, and setup of alternative drive controls to help individuals achieve an optimal and individualized technology match. The terminology and applications discussed in this course will be applicable to a variety of power wheelchairs and devices that are commercially available. Case examples and hands-on demonstration will be used throughout the course alongside technical and clinical discussions of different alternative drive controls to provide an understanding of the key factors and clinical considerations that impact drive control selection, setup, and use.

Please email [email protected] for full flier and/or if you have questions.

I hope you can join us!
