Education Resources, Inc. Life-changing learning for therapists by therapists. Continuing education courses for OTs, PTs and SLPs. We remind you why you love what you do! We have grown.

Founded in 1985 by two practicing therapists Barbara Goldfarb and Carol Loria, ERIโ€™s mission is to provide continuing education that can truly make a difference for therapists and their patients. As therapists themselves, they are committed to assuring class participants learn effective techniques and critical problem solving skills that can be immediately applied in the work setting. The idea of

Education Resources came to us over dinner one night just 25 years ago. We met in graduate school at Sargent College at Boston University, became fast friends and following graduation, did collaborative research between our respective facilities. We founded a journal club to help us stay current in our ever-evolving field, and this group has been meeting monthly for nearly 30 years. One night, while we were out on maternity leave, we talked about our dream of starting a company to provide the kinds of continuing education that could really make a difference for therapists and their patients. By the time we hit dessert, we were in, excited, and ready to roll up our sleeves. Little did we know how going out on maternity leave would change our lives in so many ways. Initially we taught all the courses which focused on treating the child with cerebral palsy. We answered the phones, did our own bulk mailing, and our office fit into two briefcases that were shuttled between our houses. Clearly, Education Resources has grown over the years, at the same rate as our children who are now in graduate school themselves. We continue to strive to develop and offer courses that really make a difference in the lives of the children you treat. Our office is staffed by 11 caring, dedicated professionals, and we now offer courses for PTs, OTs, SLPs, educators and others throughout the country. We are always available to help you plan your professional development and to choose courses to help you achieve your goals. Carol Loria

Infants and children with neuromuscular impairments often experience challenges with oral, pharyngeal, feeding, swallowing, phonatory, and respiratory coordination. Effective intervention programming goes far beyond isolated oral motor skills.

โœ… Appropriate intervention emphasizes:
โ€ข Postural alignment and trunk stability as the foundation for breathing, swallowing, and voice
โ€ข Integration of respiration, phonation, and feeding rather than treating each system in isolation
โ€ข Functional practice during meaningful activities (feeding, play, communication)
โ€ข Attention to sensory factors that influence safety, efficiency, and endurance
โ€ข Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to support growth, nutrition, and airway protection

๐ŸŽฏ The goal isnโ€™t to โ€œfixโ€ one structureโ€”itโ€™s to improve coordination, efficiency, and safety across systems so children can participate more fully in feeding, communication, and daily routines.

Thoughtful, developmentally informed programming can make a powerful difference for these children and their families.
