Debby's caseload is building up! She provides holistic therapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth. She believes healing begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and accepted, creating a safe space where clients can better understand themselves, process difficult experiences, and move beyond patterns that no longer serve them. Debby helps clients strengthen resilience, build healthier relationships, reconnect with their values, and create meaningful, lasting change that supports emotional well-being in every area of life.

Happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸

The Fourth of July commemorates the struggle for independence from colonial rule—a story rooted in the human longing for autonomy, representation, and the freedom to shape our own future.

As mental health professionals, we're also aware that history doesn't simply stay in the past. Trauma can be individual, relational, cultural, and systemic. The effects of policies, institutions, and historical events can echo across generations, influencing how safe, empowered, and connected people feel today.

Many holidays hold a dialectic: we can celebrate meaningful freedoms while also acknowledging the freedoms and equity that many people continue to seek. We can feel gratitude and grief. Pride and concern. Hope and frustration. These experiences are not mutually exclusive.

Whether your reflections today center on military sacrifice, racial injustice, economic inequality, political division, or the everyday challenges of feeling heard and represented, your experience is valid. Our nervous systems are shaped not only by our personal lives, but also by the communities and systems we live within.

While we may not be able to change systems overnight, we can support ourselves and one another in ways that foster resilience. Regulating our nervous systems, building supportive relationships, and finding spaces where we feel seen and heard are powerful acts that help us stay engaged without becoming overwhelmed.

At Rogue Holistic Therapy, we strive to create a space where people of all backgrounds and political perspectives are welcomed with compassion and respect. We believe that every person deserves dignity, autonomy, connection, and the opportunity to move toward greater wholeness.

Today, we wish you safety, reflection, and the freedom to become more fully yourself.

Your vagus nerve is constantly listening: It serves as a vital communication pathway between the brain and body—helping regulate heart rate, digestion, inflammation, stress responses, emotional regulation, and our capacity for connection.

The vagus nerve isn’t just about physiology. It’s deeply connected to how we experience safety, belonging, and relationship. Through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, we begin to understand that our nervous systems are always asking one essential question: “Am I safe enough to connect?”

This diagram offers a glimpse into the remarkable reach of the vagus nerve throughout the body—and why understanding it can transform the way we think about health, healing, and human behavior.
