Pride Month is a time to celebrate identity, connection, and belonging—but it can also be a reminder of the importance of support.

Feeling seen and accepted plays a big role in mental health. Everyone deserves spaces where they can show up as themselves and feel supported.

Taking care of ourselves also means finding connection—whether that’s with friends, community, or trusted supports.

This month and every month, we’re reminded that connection matters—and no one should have to navigate things alone.

Studies show that men are:

▪ Less likely to seek help
▪ More likely to struggle in silence
▪ At higher risk for su***de

Why?

Many men are taught to stay silent or handle struggles on their own. They’re often told that needing help—especially for mental health—means weakness.

But talking about mental health is not a weakness. It's a step toward strength.

Let’s break the stigma. Start a real conversation. Check in with yourself or someone you care about—or reach out to us. We’re here: 330-725-9195.

Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us that mental health is a journey and not just a moment. It’s a time to learn, listen, and break the stigma that keeps people from speaking up.

Awareness is where it begins. What we do next matters. We hope it leads to real conversations, stronger connections, and the courage to reach out because no one should have to walk this path alone.

And as the month ends, the work continues—every day, for every person.

Prevention starts with understanding what increases risk and what helps protect.
Risk factors are things that can increase the chance of challenges like mental health concerns or substance use. Protective factors are the supports, skills, and connections that help people cope and stay well.

These do not cancel each other out, but protective factors can reduce the impact of risk over time.

Risk factors might look like isolation, stress, or lack of support. Protective factors include connection, coping skills, and access to help. Even small protective factors can make a meaningful difference.

Prevention is not one program or one moment. It is built through everyday actions that strengthen support, connection, and resilience in our communities.
If you or someone you know needs support, help is available 24/7. Call 330-725-9195.
