County Engineer Andy Conrad graciously volunteered to enlarge the rear parking lot and backfill it with grindings from a local project. His crew was very efficient and completed the project in 2 days. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you, Andy!

Residents from the Medina County Home recently enjoyed a fun-filled visit to the Clutters (Medina Kids Care) for their “Down on the Farm” event, creating meaningful moments and lasting memories.
The day included a lively juggling performance by Audrie Smith that entertained the group, along with a delicious cookout that brought everyone together. Residents loved interacting with the animals, including Timothy the donkey, friendly dogs Layla and Gabriella, miniature ponies, and even a graceful swan. Balloon art created by Nate the Great and raffles added an extra layer of fun and excitement throughout the visit.
To wrap up the day, residents had the special opportunity to stand beside Jett (named after Russ flying jets), a majestic draft horse, providing a perfect and memorable ending to a wonderful outing.
A heartfelt thank you to Melinda and Russ Clutter, Rustee and Eric Rose, Mason Clutter, Amy and Joe Spence, Dusty Eakin, and Colin Bunch for making this special event possible.

Volunteer Luncheon Celebrates Appreciation for Medina County Home Volunteers

The Medina County Home recently hosted a special Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to recognize and celebrate the dedicated individuals who generously give their time and compassion to our residents and community. Volunteers play an important role in bringing kindness, companionship, and support to the residents each and every day, and this luncheon was a heartfelt way to thank them for all they do.

During the luncheon, our wonderful volunteers were treated to a delicious meal from Cool Beans, along with cookies, chips, and dip for everyone to enjoy. The event provided a warm and relaxing atmosphere where volunteers could gather together, share conversations, and feel appreciated for their hard work and dedication.

As a special token of gratitude, each volunteer received a beautiful geranium flower. The flowers symbolized the growth, care, and brightness that our volunteers bring to the Medina County Home through their generosity and commitment.
We are incredibly thankful for our volunteers and the positive impact they make in the lives of our residents.

Their compassion and willingness to help create a welcoming and caring environment that means so much to everyone at the Medina County Home.
Thank you to all of our volunteers for your time, dedication, and the many smiles you bring to our community each day.

Music, Rhythm, and Connection Through Access the Arts

Residents recently enjoyed a wonderful and engaging musical experience thanks to a retired orchestra teacher named Kathy Liticker who now volunteers with the organization Access the Arts. Through her passion for music and education, she brought joy, creativity, and meaningful interaction to residents during a special rhythm-focused activity session.

Using simple rhythmic patterns and musical exercises, residents were encouraged to participate by clapping, tapping, and following along with different beats. Activities like these can also help reduce stress, encourage social interaction, and stimulate cognitive function, making music a powerful tool for engagement and wellness.

The session created smiles, laughter, and a sense of connection as residents worked together through the rhythms and enjoyed the uplifting atmosphere music can bring.

To make the afternoon even more special, Janet generously baked a delicious lemon pound cake for the residents to enjoy after the activity. The homemade treat was a wonderful addition to the event and gave everyone a chance to relax, socialize, and continue enjoying the sense of community created throughout the program.

We are grateful for volunteers and community partners like those from Access the Arts who continue to bring meaningful experiences, creativity, and joy to our residents.
