Wasatch Wild American Black Elderberry growth habit.
Beginning in their 3rd winter dormant season we prune the Elderberry plants so that only 2 sets of nodes remain above ground (approximately 12" high) as you see in the first picture ( taken March 22).
Fast forward to June 8th and the Elderberry plants have already reached a height of 6'. Flower buds are beginning to appear. By the end of June they will have attained a height of 8'-10'. Flowers will be in bloom and begin transforming into Elderberries.
