🥗 Feeling Sick After Eating Fresh Produce? It Could Be More Than a Stomach Bug. Cyclosporiasis is a foodborne illness linked to contaminated fresh produce like berries, leafy greens, cilantro, and basil. Symptoms usually appear about 1 week after exposure and may include:

✔️ Watery diarrhea
✔️ Stomach cramps and bloating
✔️ Nausea or loss of appetite
✔️ Fatigue
✔️ Low-grade fever

Don't wait to get checked if you have:
💧 Diarrhea lasting more than 3 days
💧 Signs of dehydration (dizziness, dark urine, dry mouth, excessive thirst)
💧 A fever over 101.3°F
💧 Bloody diarrhea
💧 Persistent vomiting or inability to keep fluids down

Older adults, young children, pregnant patients, and anyone with a weakened immune system should seek care sooner. One important note: If you believe you're experiencing symptoms of Cyclospora, visit your nearest NextCare Urgent Care.
