Your anxious mind can turn completely normal parts of flying into signs that something is wrong. ✈️

The wing flexes.
The engines change sound.
The plane turns.
Your flight gets delayed.
You feel a change in speed or movement.

And suddenly your brain is creating a worst-case scenario.

Here are 6 scenarios when your own mind tricks you into thinking your in danger
(and why you’re not!):

1.
“The wing is moving! It could fall off.”
Reality:
Wings are designed to flex. It’s normal to see them move.

2.
“We are flying in circles, there’s a major problem.”
Reality:
You’re in a holding pattern. ATC is doing their job and managing traffic.

3.
“We sped up suddenly before landing, something’s wrong.”
Reality:
Planes don’t actually speed up before landing. It’s an illusion and normal physical maneuvers make it feel that way.

4.
“This plane is too old, it could fall apart any minute.”
Reality:
Planes are meticulously maintained and there’s redundancy which means everything is double and triple checked and there are backups for the backups. This matters more than age.

5.
“The weather is good but the plane is delayed so something must be wrong with the plane.
Reality:
It could be a crew change, a previous delay, or weather conditions elsewhere.”

6.
“The engines made a weird sound or went silent they must be broken.”
Reality:
Power changes are normal for different phases of the flight. Put on your noise concealing headphones and breattithhheeeee

✨
Save this for your next flight as a reminder that you are safe
You are always at the right place at the right time
There is nothing to fear

If you’re an anxious flyer can you remember a time when you didn’t fear flying?

For many of us the anxiety is initially triggered by a life event, a news story, even a movie scene, and then fueled by a feeling that we are not in control.

My work is to bring you back into the headspace before the fear.

It’s a shift in where you alow your thoughts to go and it’s also about building new triggers.

Positive ones that benefit you instead of terrorize you and bring you to a place of peace instead of fear no matter the environment.

Fearless Flyer already includes 22 in-depth modules designed to help you change the way you think about flying, regulate your nervous system, and build lasting confidence in the air.

I’m currently creating even more content because so many of you have asked for help with feelings of claustrophobia while flying. Those new modules will be added to the course as soon as they’re ready.

If you’ve already purchased Fearless Flyer, you don’t need to do anything. You’ll automatically receive access to all future modules at no additional cost.

I’d love to hear from you. If you still struggle with flying, what is the hardest part for you?

You are safer than you think!
8 REASONS
TO FEEL BETTER
ABOUT FLYING
⬇️

1.
Commercial flying is incredibly safe.

In fact, it is the safest mode of transport available. The fatality risk is extraordinarily low, about 0.06 to 0.17 deaths per million flights.

Statistically, a person would need to fly every single day for tens of thousands of years to experience a fatal commercial aviation accident.

2.
YOUR BODY CAN HANDLE THIS

Anxiety feels intense, but it is not dangerous and it can be managed
Remind your brain:
This is good, I am safe.
Every time you fly, or even see a plane in the sky, you build new evidence of safety.

3.
FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL

Bring noise concealing headphones with calming music downloaded to your phone.
Stay hydrated
Move when you can
Breathe: slow inhales, longer exhales

4.
BREAK THE FLIGHT INTO SMALL CHUNKS

You don’t have to think about the whole flight.
Focus on the present moment:
MEAL
MOVIE
WALK
REST
One small step at a time.
You’ve got this.

5. Turbulence feels scary,
but it’s not dangerous.

Planes are built to handle MUCH more
than what we experience.

Don’t tense up, just BREATHE, let the pilots do what they are trained to do.

6.
YOUR NERVOUS IS TRYING TO PROTECT YOU

Your thoughts and beliefs around flying are signaling to your body that you are in an unsafe situation.

When you change those thought patterns, you control the inputs and thereby the outputs, and flying gets so much easier.

7. Air travel has become even safer
over the past 50 years.

Your odds of being in a serious incident continue to decrease every single year.

8.
YOU CAN DO HARD
THINGS
And fly anyway.

The world is a beautiful place waiting to be explored by you. 🫶

Save this before your next flight so these reminders are always with you.
Follow for daily aviation facts, nervous system regulation practices, and practical tools to help you fly with more calm and confidence.
When you’re ready for a complete step-by-step system, Fearless Flyer is waiting for you through the link in my bio. ✈️
