October marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time to honor those who have faced breast cancer, remember those we have lost, celebrate survivors, and stand beside the families and caregivers walking alongside them. 🎀

Awareness is more than simply knowing breast cancer exists. It means encouraging education, supporting early detection, having meaningful conversations, and making sure no one feels alone throughout their journey.

At OpusCare, we understand the importance of compassionate, individualized support for patients and their loved ones during some of life’s most difficult moments. This month, and always, we stand with everyone impacted by breast cancer. 💗

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on one of the wonderful individuals who shares her time and heart with OpusCare. 🩵 Meet Sarah!

Born and raised in Miami, Sarah is a Florida Atlantic University graduate who plans to pursue a career in healthcare. When she isn’t volunteering, you might find her dancing, reading, enjoying a Broadway musical, or happily practicing her Spanish. 🎭📚

Sarah shared that she is excited to continue learning and growing with OpusCare while making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and families — and we are so grateful to have her as part of our volunteer family.

Volunteers like Sarah remind us that compassionate care is about more than what we do — it’s also about the time, presence, kindness, and connection we give to others.

September is Healthy Aging Month — a reminder that aging well doesn’t have one definition. 💙

Sometimes it looks like taking a morning walk. Sometimes it’s learning something new, sharing dinner with family, staying connected with friends, accepting a helping hand or simply continuing to enjoy the things that make life feel meaningful.

Healthy aging is about supporting physical, emotional and social well-being while preserving something equally important: quality of life.

At OpusCare, that message is especially meaningful to us. As health needs change, compassionate hospice and palliative care can help individuals and families focus on comfort, dignity, connection and the moments that matter most.

This month, we encourage you to celebrate the older adults in your life. Call them. Visit them. Listen to their stories. Invite them along. Ask what brings them joy.

Because every chapter deserves to be lived with purpose, dignity and care. 🕊️

During World Alzheimer’s Month, we recognize the individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, as well as the families and caregivers walking beside them through every change, challenge, and meaningful moment.

At OpusCare, we believe that compassionate care is about seeing the whole person—not simply a diagnosis. Even when memories change, every individual deserves to feel safe, valued, respected, and surrounded by care.

This month, we honor the stories that have been lived, the connections that remain, and the families who continue to love through every season. 💜
