You would NEVER guess what was behind this bookcase. 👀

This basement started as a dark, windowless concrete room, packed floor to ceiling with shelves, boxes, and storage. It was functional, but it wasn’t exactly a space the family wanted to spend time in.

So we completely reimagined it. 🌈

Now, the same basement is a warm, welcoming family room and playroom, thoughtfully designed by Groh Playrooms to give everyone a place to hang out, play, create, and connect.

And the best part? A secret bookcase door hidden inside the room leads straight into the playroom. 📚✨

It’s one of those design details that makes the space feel completely unexpected, while also creating a natural connection between the family room and the kids’ space.
