[EN] Lillian Prime has served as Open Door Clinic’s Patient Services Coordinator since January of 2025. Before that, she volunteered in the office and as an interpreter, and served as a summer intern. In July, she stepped fully into her new role as ODC’s bilingual Community Health Worker, working closely with expectant parents, infants and families to connect them to health care, systems and services. This role expands how ODC serves our patient community. We are thrilled that Lillian is bringing her calm, compassionate approach and her brilliance at collaboratively managing complex systems and competing demands to this critical new position.

Interested in social justice and health equity? Want to serve the community? The Open Door Clinic (ODC), just down the road from the college, is recruiting volunteers and hosting a j-term intern!

The Open Door Clinic provides free health and dental care to un- and underinsured people in Addison County, many of them Latin American and Jamaican farm and orchard workers. Volunteers will interpret for patients, support medical office tasks, and more. The Middlebury College community contributed more than half of ODC’s 3,000 volunteer hours in 2025!

Join our Fall Volunteer training on Saturday October 31st at the Center for Community Engagement, at 26 Blinn Ln, Middlebury College! We’ll run 9:30-11 for general volunteers, and 9:30-4 for interpreter trainees, with refreshments and lunch provided. We are especially seeking volunteer medical interpreters for Spanish, as well as Punjabi, Gujarati, and Vietnamese.

We’re also hosting a Winter Term 2027 Open Door Clinic Bilingual Medical Intern. Follow the link in our bio to apply via Handshake, or to learn more.

Please email us at [email protected] with any questions!
