Eye floaters are small spots or specks that move through your field of vision.

They are commonly associated with changes in the vitreous, the clear, gel-like substance inside the eye.

A sudden increase in floaters or flashes of light can also be a sign of a more serious eye condition, including retinal detachment.

If you suddenly begin experiencing floaters or flashes of light, contact your eye doctor immediately.
