Alfred Thomas Wilce

Alfred "Al" Thomas Wilce of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away on August 25, 2026.

Al was born on November 13, 1948, in Mariemont, Ohio, to Alfred Francis Wilce and Audrey June Wilce (née Livingston).

A devoted Catholic, Al was a parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Covington, Kentucky. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam era, serving in London as a radioman for the U.S. Embassy. Following his military service, Al dedicated 30 years of his career to the Internal Revenue Service, retiring as a Senior Analyst.

Al loved his country, and he especially loved the opportunity to see the world while serving it. Of all the places his Navy service took him, London and Alaska were among his favorites.

Throughout his life, Al embraced learning, service, and adventure. He was a Master Mason, Scottish Rite Freemason, Kentucky Colonel, Shriner, and master gardener. But beyond the titles and accomplishments, Al was creative, endlessly curious, wickedly smart, and a man of many talents. He was one of those rare people who seemed to know a little about everything and could figure out how to do just about anything. He approached life with an inquisitive mind, a capable hand, and an unmistakable sense of individuality.

Al was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Barr; and his nephew, Howard I. Barr II.

He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Wilce Carroll; his grandson, Nathaniel "Nate" Thomas Carroll; his niece, Malia Panas (Basil); and his cousin, Rose Eva Cornell.

Interment is planned at Arlington National Cemetery, with the date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Al's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Maris P Krumins

Maris P. Krumins, 86, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Sem Haven in Milford, Ohio.

Maris is remembered by his son, Karl; daughter, Mara; son-in-law, Andrew; and grandsons, Jack and Erik. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara "Sally," and his parents, Karlis and Vita.

Maris was born in Rīga, Latvia, on May 15, 1940. In 1944, during World War II, his family fled their home to escape the advancing communist Russian Red Army. They obtained passage to a displaced persons camp in Germany before immigrating to the United States. After a short stay in Quincy, Massachusetts, the Krumins family settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There, Maris attended grammar school, became proficient in English, graduated from high school, and was active in the Latvian community. He continued his education at Grand Rapids Junior College and graduated from Purdue University in 1962 with a degree in psychology. Maris went on to study law at Indiana University, where he met his future wife, Sally, and earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence. Maris passed the Indiana Bar exam in July 1965 and married Sally in August 1965.

Maris initially worked in the Indiana Law School dean's office before accepting a position as an attorney for the U.S. Labor Relations Board. In 1969, Maris accepted a position teaching business and labor law at Ferris State College and moved the family to Big Rapids, Michigan. Maris loved teaching, earned Instructor of the Year in 1972, and took pride in never missing a class. He "retired" in 2003 but continued teaching part time until 2006, instilling business law principles in Ferris students for more than 37 years. Maris was a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Tri-State Business Law Association, and the American Business Law Association.

Throughout his life, Maris enjoyed chatting with whomever crossed his path, reading (history and legal thrillers), working out daily, and following sports. He always started his day with coffee and enjoyed ending it by relaxing with his daily newspapers and a b**r for dessert. Maris ran track in high school and played club soccer at Purdue. He became an avid spectator of boxing, baseball, and hockey. He followed Ferris hockey from its beginnings in 1975 and was known for his collection of NHL team T-shirts, especially those featuring the Detroit Red Wings.

Madonna Marie Henderson

Madonna Marie "Donna" Henderson

November 23, 1936 - September 3, 2026

Madonna Marie "Donna" Henderson, 89, of Loveland, Ohio, formerly of Carmel, California, passed away on September 3, 2026. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be remembered for her generosity, wit, and love of life.

Donna was born on November 23, 1936, the daughter of Eugene Henry Schaffner and Madge Marie (Blanton) Schaffner. She attended Catholic schools and graduated from La Salette Academy in 1955. She went on to study X-ray technology at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, Kentucky, and worked as an X-ray technician in doctors' offices and hospitals.

In 1960, Donna moved to Florida, where she eventually met the love of her life, Alexander Dawson Henderson III. The two were married in 1970 and shared 50 years of marriage until Alex's death in 2020.

Donna embraced life and especially enjoyed traveling the world, playing tennis and bridge, hiking, skiing, visiting family, and shopping for the latest fashions. She was also an animal lover with a particular affection for the cats she adopted and cared for over the years.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alexander Dawson Henderson III; her parents, Eugene Henry and Madge Marie (Blanton) Schaffner; her brother, Charles Henry Schaffner; and her nephew, Timothy Allen Benson.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann (Schaffner) Benson of Loveland; Thomas (Chuen) Schaffner of Bakersfield, California; her sister-in-law, Sharon (Kennedy) Schaffner; her brother-in-law, A. Douglas Henderson of Lexington, Kentucky; and her husband's children, Dawson (Sharon) Henderson, Greg (Louise) Henderson, David (Lindsey) Henderson, Scott (Sandra) Henderson, and Holly (Bijan) Fouladi, her nieces, Barbara (Paul) Blasch, Carol (Lee) Breth, Carey (Schaffner) Hammond, her nephews, Gil (Liz) Benson, Charles (Mikki) Schaffner, and Thomas Schaffner, and many more nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Saint Andrew Church in Milford. All are welcome to attend in Donna's honor.

Donna's life was enriched by the people she loved, the places she traveled, and the many experiences she shared with Alex, her family, and her friends. After a long and full life, she is now at peace and free from pain.

Helen K. Reynolds

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen K. Reynolds, a beloved mother and friend, who left us on September 7, 2026, at the age of 103. Born on November 15, 1922, in Cincinnati, OH, Helen lived a full life, embracing every moment with warmth and kindness.

Helen was a dedicated cook, spending many years sharing her culinary talents at Clermont Northeastern Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students and staff with her delicious meals and caring spirit. Family was everything to Helen, and she often took pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Richard and David Reynolds, daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Reynolds, and grandchildren Brian Creed, Joe Hazenfield, Jamie Hazenfield, Rick Reynolds, Duane Reynolds and Tiffany Dennison who all held a special place in her heart.

Helen was a longstanding member of the Monterey Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ for both groups.

A graveside service will be held to honor Helen's life on September 15, 2026, at Greenlawn Cemetery, beginning at 11:15 AM. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Milford from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where all who knew and loved Helen are invited to share memories and pay their respects.

Helen's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who cherished her, and her love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember her laughter, her cooking, and the boundless love she shared with everyone around her. She will be dearly missed.

Rest in peace, Helen. You have left a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten.

Betty L. Green

Betty L. Green, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on December 24, 1939, in Kenvir, Kentucky, Betty exemplified resilience and warmth throughout her life.

Betty dedicated many years to working as an assembler at Schauer Manufacturing in Blue Ash, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. After retiring, she immersed herself in her family and community, filling her days with love and care for her children and grandchildren. Her life was rich with experiences, but perhaps her most treasured moments were spent surrounded by family.

A member of the Tree of Life Church, Betty cherished her faith and the support of her church community. Her love for shopping, particularly at thrift stores, allowed her to find unique treasures and, perhaps more importantly, to share joy and laughter with those she loved. Betty was a passionate collector, with her most prized possessions being her delightful array of teacups, each with its own story and sentiment.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband, William Green, and her children: Jonnie (Robert) Rubenbauer, Eddie Harp, Tommy (Cathy) Harp, and Johnny Harp. Betty was a devoted grandmother to her fourteen grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to twenty-eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, often found babysitting and helping nurture the next generations. Her legacy of love will continue to thrive in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evans Funeral Home, Milford. A heartfelt tribute to her spirit, love, and laughter will be shared in a service filled with reflection, remembrance, and the warmth that Betty so generously gave.

Alice Ruth Bayman

Alice Bayman, 69, of Milford, Ohio, peacefully passed away on September 2, 2026, after a courageous and long battle with cancer.

Alice was born on November 5, 1956, in Seymour, Indiana, to Lawrence and Paula (Dringenburg) Otte. Growing up on the family farm, she developed a lifelong love for animals. Her most prized childhood pet was Susie the Goose, who faithfully followed Alice through 4-H fairs and even made a memorable television appearance.

A dedicated student and sharp mind, Alice graduated from Seymour High School in 1974. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy from Wittenberg University in 1978, later completing an MBA in Finance. She achieved professional excellence, earning her credentials as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). She began her career in public accounting before successfully transitioning to self-employment, providing accounting services for many years.

On November 29, 1980, Alice married the love of her life, Bruce Bayman, in Seymour, Indiana. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two beloved sons, Mark and Matthew.

While she excelled with numbers, Alice's true passion was people, community, and service. She was best known for serving as a librarian for decades, sharing her love of reading at both the college and through several local churches. She had an extraordinary spirit of hospitality, frequently opening her home to host countless gatherings, bridal and baby showers, and vibrant parties.

An adventurer at heart, Alice possessed an insatiable love for travel. She explored 66 countries, six continents, all 50 U.S. states, and much of Canada-successfully passing her adventurous "travel bug" down to both of her sons. Above all, Alice was generous to a fault. She lived her life with a hospitable heart, constantly showing the love of Jesus Christ to everyone she met through her selfless service.

Alice is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Bruce Bayman of Milford; her sons, Mark Bayman and Matthew Bayman; her sister, Olga Otte; and her brother-in-law, Brian Bayman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Paula Otte.

The family will receive friends for a celebration of Alice's life on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home (741 Center Street, Milford, Ohio 45150). Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 5:30 PM.

An additional celebration of life and burial service will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church - Borchers (10792 N. County Road 210 E, Seymour, Indiana 47274). Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed immediately by the funeral service, interment at Borchers Cemetery, and a fellowship luncheon.
