Rena K. Walls

Rena K. Walls, born on May 10, 1971, to the late Robert and Phyllis Walls, passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 56.

Rena was a passionate tattoo artist with a love for music and dancing, embracing life as a true flower child. Her vibrant spirit touched many.

She leaves behind her beloved children: Tena Sirk, Samantha Sirk, Miranda Baker (Richard), Jeffrey Franklin (Larissa), and Kera Garner (Chris). Her cherished grandchildren include Adam Lee, Faith Ann Marie, Logan Allen, Isaac Jase, Jazzlynn Scott, Derek Lee, Peyton Robert Wayne, Matthew David, Danny Albert, Aurora, Alexander, Ann-Marie, Melodie Ann Kay, Christopher Adam, and Malachi Adam. Rena is also survived by her siblings: Thomas Walls, Angela Dalton, and Donnie Hill, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Rena was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Walls.

Services will be held on Friday, September, 18, 2026 at 7 P.M. at Megie Funeral Home, 104 Spice Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154, with family accepting visitors starting at 5 P.M.

James E. Newell

James E. Newell, 71, of Georgetown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026.

He was born on October 13, 1954, to the late Geneva Nee-Wood and Frederick Newell.

James took pride in his hard work and spent many years in the construction and paving industry before retiring. He loved spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed fishing. He was a loving husband to his late wife, Sheila (Smith) Newell.

James was a beloved father to Mina Newell, Jamie (Jordan-Neal) Newell, and Billy (Trina) Stephens.

He was a proud grandfather to Braxton, Payton, Brad-Leigh, Jayzen, Dalton, Maelee, Dillon, Kelsey, Kayla, Meghan, Mikeal, and Darien.

He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Easton, Ema, Blakelyn, Brayden, Carter, Autumn, and Charlie.

James touched the hearts and lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Sharon Hendrix

Sharon Lynn Hendrix, of Westchester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on December 12, 1952, in Swindon, England.

Sharon was the beloved partner of Allen R. Schultz for 14 years. She is survived by her son, Michael McKinney; brother, Mark (Pat) Hendrix; sister, Kathy (Dick) Siegel; sister-in-law, Eileen Hendrix; her beloved dogs, Davey and Harley; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Stella Hendrix, and her brother, Michael Hendrix.

Sharon was a devoted mother who cherished the time she spent with her son, especially golfing together. She enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, visiting casinos, and playing slot machines. She found joy in the simple things she loved and treasured the time spent with the people and pets who were important to her.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 P.M., with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Megie Funeral Home – Craver Chapel, 529 Main Street, Milford, Ohio 45150.

Sharon will be remembered for the love she gave to her family and the many memories she created throughout her life.

Elsie Faye Mulloy

Elsie Faye Mulloy, born May 14, 1933, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the age of 93. A beloved daughter of the late Clarence and Wilda Bush, Elsie's life was a tapestry of dedication, adventure, and love.

A proud veteran, Elsie served in the US Navy during the Korean War, exemplifying strength and courage. She was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Orab and worked at US Shoe, where she was known for her dedication and kindness.

Elsie shared a vibrant life with her late husband, Roland Mulloy, enjoying travels, motorcycle rides, camping, and boating. Family was at the heart of her happiness, and she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren.

Elsie's legacy lives on through her daughters, Charlene K. Hathorn (Dave) and Charlotte H. Conover, her ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also lovingly remembered by her son-in-law, Richard Fite. She joins her departed loved ones, including her daughters Margaret Ann Mulloy and Cheryl F. Fite, and her siblings Ralph Bush and Ruby Kegley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Megie Funeral Home, 104 Spice Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio, with visitation from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Mt. Orab Cemetery. Pastor Mike Marritt officiating.

In honor of Elsie's memory, donations may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, 2003 Veterans Blvd., Georgetown, OH 45121.

Elsie's spirit and love touched all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

Jane Meeker Johnson

Jane Meeker Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at the age of 73.

Jane shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with her high school sweetheart, Jim, her beloved partner in life and adventure. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to Laura (Scott) Montgomery, Helen Bradish, and Betsy (Josh) Deeter, and a proud and loving grandmother to Jane, Walter, and Henry Montgomery, and Bo, Nellie, and Emma Deeter.

Jane is also survived by her siblings, David N. (Becky) Meeker, George N. (Cindy) Meeker, and Susan (Bob) Naeny, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and David Meeker.

Jane attended Troy High School and was a graduate of Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia.

Jane was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She was funny and witty, warm and positive, and always ready for the next adventure. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, loved, and at ease. She embraced life fully and was an active and devoted presence in her family, her community, and the many organizations that were important to her.

Jane found joy in so many things; she was an avid needlepointer, loved playing tennis, enjoyed bowling with the EFBL bowling group, and cherished her time with family and friends in Lake Leelanau. But more than anything, Jane treasured her family. She loved being together, sharing a laugh, and creating the memories that will now live on in those she leaves behind.

Jane’s kindness, humor, optimism, and zest for life will be deeply missed. Her family and friends will carry her memory with them and remain grateful for the love, laughter, and light she brought into their lives.

Services will be held in Cincinnati on Saturday, September 19th at 11:00am at Horizon Community Church. The service will be livestreamed:

The pain of losing a loved one is unlike any other feeling you experience in life. It is raw, often robs joy, and can feel all-consuming at times. However, grief itself is not a bad thing; it is actually a complement to love. Because your love was so real and powerful, you grieve the loss of that person deeply. And when the dark moments come, think on the good times and remember that your grief is evidence of your great love. And love is worth it!

Dennis Lee Kalberg

It is of great sadness to announce the passing of Dennis Lee Kalberg. Dennis passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026. He was born on December 4, 1944, to the late Glenn and Rose Kalberg. Dennis graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a Masters in the Pulp and Paper School in 1970. After graduating he served in the Army for two years. During his career he managed the Hammermill Paper Corporate Research Paper Machine Development Team. In 1984, he was the key member of the design, selection, construction and start up teams for Hammermill Paper’s state-of the-art, “Dream Machine” (Riverdale PM15). PM15 started on time in 1986 and produced product right away. Dennis taught generations of engineers, showing how to manage and control their paper forming processes. Dennis was a member of TAPPI (Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry) and the American Paper Institute Sensor Development Committee. He was a regular attendee of the Department of Energy Sensor working group, and the past papermaking subcommittee chairman.

Dennis enjoyed playing Bridge and belonged to the American Contract Bridge League. He loved watching baseball and bow-hunting. He also loved to travel with a beach being his favorite destination.

Dennis is survived by the love of his life, wife Heather Leigh Kalberg; his son, Eric J. Kalberg; and daughter, Kara L. (Frank) Aquino. He was a cherished grandfather to Nathaniel and Norah Aquino; brother to Steve Kalberg and wife Joyce and family; and brother-in-law to Kay and Rick Nesbitt and family. Dennis is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

Although he may be gone from this world, his legacy lives on through the people he touched. We carry his memory with us knowing so much of him is alive in family and friends.
