Therapy isn’t always what you think or being asked “how does that make you feel?”
Sometimes therapy is helping you do the thing, find the resources, put words to the feeling, or taking the next step. It may not look like “therapy”, but they can absolutely be therapeutic & helpful.

😂😂😂😂😂 Anywhoooo… YES, my clients can ask me questions within reason. 😂

They’re telling me their deepest, most vulnerable experiences, thoughts, feelings, family business, relationship drama…. you name it. So if they ask me something simple about myself, I’m not acting like I’m under federal investigation.

There’s a BIG difference between appropriate therapist self-disclosure and oversharing/making the session about yourself.

I have boundaries & I also believe in authenticity. We can have both.

The therapist in me: Let’s talk about why you keep feeling like you have to make excuses for their behavior.

The homegirl in me: GIRL, you know you’re bleaching a red flag right?

Therapy is a judgment-free space… but we’re definitely gonna unpack that pattern!

Therapy isn’t always supposed to feel comfortable 😵‍💫

Sometimes growth looks like sitting with the feelings you usually avoid, recognizing patterns you’ve been repeating, having the hard conversation, or being challenged to try something different.

Comfort can be healing, but so can being stretched.

You don’t go to the gym expecting to never sweat… so we can’t come to therapy expecting to never get uncomfortable either !

The goal isn’t discomfort for the sake of discomfort. The goal is growth. 🤎
