An additional, proactive approach to hospital safety is coming to Mobile Infirmary, and it has four legs!

Cayde, Star and Pete, three specially trained K9s, are preparing to take on an important role in helping to ease tense situations and creating a safer, more welcoming environment for patients, visitors and employees.

Our newest team members have officially arrived at Mobile Infirmary!

Meet Cayde, Star and Pete!

These specially trained canines have joined our Protective Services team to help de-escalate potentially dangerous situations, prevent workplace violence and support a safer environment for patients, visitors and employees.

While their role includes helping keep our hospital safe, these friendly pups are already making friends with the people of Mobile Infirmary.

The K9 teams will officially begin their duties throughout the hospital on Nov. 15. We're excited to welcome these four-legged team members to the Mobile Infirmary family.

Level up your education!

At Mobile Infirmary, we want our team members to have the tools and opportunities to take the next step in their education and careers.

During our College Palooza, employees connected with representatives from Bishop State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College, the University of Mobile, the University of South Alabama and other organizations to explore apprenticeship programs, tuition reimbursement, job shadowing and more.

Whether it's earning a degree, learning a new skill or exploring a different career path, we're proud to help our team members discover what's possible.

As Emergency Nurses Week comes to an end, Mobile Infirmary wants our emergency nurses to know how much they are valued. We know the long shifts, difficult days and countless demands of the job aren't always easy. But we also know how much it means to our patients and their families to have you there when they need you.

We hope this week has reminded you just how appreciated you are!

Mobile Infirmary wants our emergency nurses to know just how important they are to our success and, more importantly, to the patients who depend on them.

In celebration of Emergency Nurses Week, our emergency department team was treated to Olive Garden for lunch on Tuesday and a hot waffle bar on Wednesday as a small token of our appreciation.

While a meal can never fully express our gratitude, we hope these moments remind our nurses that their hard work and incredible skill does not go unnoticed.

To our emergency nurses: We see the work you do, we recognize the challenges you face and we are grateful to have you as part of the Mobile Infirmary family. Thank you for everything you bring to our patients, our hospital and one another.

Join us for Infirmary Health’s 10th Annual Stroke Symposium on Friday, November 20, at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf in Mobile.

Hear from healthcare experts as they share the latest advancements in stroke prevention, treatment and recovery.

Healthcare professionals, EMS personnel, students, stroke survivors, caregivers and community members are encouraged to attend.

Registration is $25 for Infirmary Health employees and EMS personnel and $40 for the public.
