Whole Body Vibration: Not All Vibration Plates Are Created Equal

If you’re serious about improving your bone health, the type of vibration plate you use matters.

At OsteoStrong, we use superior whole body vibration platforms that move in a vertical (up-and-down) oscillation pattern, not the inexpensive side-to-side or multi-directional vibration plates commonly found online.

Research suggests that vertical vibration provides efficient transmission of mechanical forces through the skeletal system, which is important because bone responds to loading and mechanical stress. Studies have shown that whole-body vibration may help support bone density, balance, muscle performance, and fall prevention when used appropriately. ([PubMed][1])

One of the reasons we love vertical oscillation is the proprioceptive input it provides throughout the body. Your nervous system is constantly receiving feedback about where your body is in space, helping improve balance, coordination, and stability—all critical factors for healthy aging and fall prevention.

Now, let’s be clear: a vibration plate isn’t a magic solution. But when used as part of a comprehensive bone health program, whole body vibration can be a valuable tool. ([Health][2])

That’s why we chose equipment designed specifically to support bone health and neuromuscular function—not the bargain versions you find scrolling online.

Your bones deserve more than a cheap shake. They need the right stimulus.

Not all exercise is created equal when it comes to building bone. 🦴

As an OT who’s spent 13+ years working with patients after falls and fractures, I’m passionate about helping people understand what actually stimulates bone growth.

According to Wolff’s Law, bone adapts to the demands placed on it. That’s why activities like powerlifting, jumping, sprinting, and other higher-impact exercises tend to be more effective for building bone density than walking, light resistance training, yoga, or Pilates alone.

Now, don’t get me wrong—I love yoga and Pilates. They are incredible for flexibility, balance, mobility, posture, and overall health. Walking is also fantastic for cardiovascular health and maintaining independence. But if your goal is specifically to improve bone density, your bones need a stronger stimulus.

That’s one of the reasons I believe so strongly in OsteoStrong. Our osteogenic loading devices safely emulate the forces your bones experience during high-impact activities—without the wear and tear, excessive strain, or injury risk that can come with traditional high-impact training.

For many people, especially those with osteopenia, osteoporosis, joint pain, or previous injuries, it’s a way to challenge the skeletal system safely and efficiently.

I truly believe OsteoStrong is one of the most powerful biohacks available for improving bone density, bone quality, balance, and overall musculoskeletal health.

Your bones are living tissue. Give them a reason to get stronger. 💪🦴

At our OsteoStrong center, we use the innovative EchoLight REMS technology — an advanced, radiation-free system developed in Italy that evaluates both bone density AND bone quality for a more complete picture of skeletal health.

Unlike traditional DEXA scans, REMS EchoLight uses ultrasound technology, meaning:
✔️ No radiation exposure
✔️ Safe for repeated monitoring
✔️ Comfortable and non-invasive
✔️ Advanced assessment of bone strength and quality
✔️ Highly accurate and clinically validated technology

Bone health is about more than just density alone. Understanding bone quality can help identify risk earlier and support more personalized wellness and prevention strategies.

We’re proud to offer one of the most advanced bone assessment technologies available — helping our clients take a proactive approach to stronger, healthier bones. 🦴✨

At OsteoStrong, we believe true wellness goes beyond exercise alone.

One of the powerful recovery and regenerative technologies we offer is PEMF therapy — Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy — a non-invasive wellness modality designed to support the body at the cellular level.

PEMF works by delivering gentle electromagnetic pulses to the body, helping support cellular communication, circulation, recovery, and overall function. Every cell in the body carries an electrical charge, and PEMF therapy is designed to help “recharge” and optimize cellular performance.

Benefits of PEMF therapy may include:
• Improved circulation
• Enhanced recovery and healing
• Reduced inflammation
• Support for joint and muscle comfort
• Increased energy and vitality
• Better sleep quality
• Stress reduction and nervous system regulation
• Enhanced athletic recovery
• Support for bone health and cellular repair
• Improved mobility and flexibility
• Relaxation and overall wellness support

One of the things I love most is that not all PEMF technologies are the same. At OsteoStrong, we offer TWO different PEMF technologies because different frequencies, waveforms, and delivery systems can provide different wellness benefits.
Some systems are designed more for:
✔️ relaxation and nervous system support
✔️ circulation and lymphatic flow
✔️ muscle recovery and performance
✔️ targeted joint support
✔️ cellular regeneration
I personally love PEMF so much that I also use a completely different PEMF technology regularly at home. It’s become one of my favorite wellness tools because it’s easy, non-invasive, and helps me feel more recovered, energized, and balanced.

Just like exercise, nutrition, and sleep — recovery matters. Supporting the body at the cellular level can make a huge difference in how we feel and function every day. 💪

Vertical vibration like the ones we use at OsteoStrong delivers force more directly through the bones and joints, which may create a stronger osteogenic (bone-stimulating) response.

The commercial-grade systems like the ones at OsteoStrong also tend to have:
✔️ Stronger motors
✔️ More consistent frequencies and amplitudes
✔️ Greater structural stability
✔️ Higher force capacity
✔️ Better ability to safely transmit load through the body

At OsteoStrong, we love combining whole-body vibration with axial loading because bone responds to safe, strategic force. The goal isn’t just movement — it’s giving the skeletal system the stimulus it needs to adapt and become stronger over time. 💪🦴

05/19/2026

Walking and swimming are wonderful forms of exercise with so many incredible benefits for cardiovascular health, mobility, endurance, and overall wellness.

But when it comes to building and maintaining strong bones, research shows that not all exercise creates the type of stimulus needed to promote bone growth.

Our skeletal system responds to load. In order to stimulate stronger, healthier bones, the body needs safe, strategic force placed through the skeletal system.

That’s why at OsteoStrong we encourage our members, during axial loading on our proprietary devices, to safely load as hard as they can within their comfort and ability level.
This isn’t about working harder for the sake of exhaustion — it’s about giving the bones the precise stimulus they need to adapt, strengthen, and thrive. 💪🦴

Do you want to know how I have achieved a t score of a +2.0 standard deviation in my left hip and a +1.8 standard deviation in my spine?!!!

I’ve been doing osteogenic loading for 7 years. I’ve talk to a couple of doctors who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and cannot believe my T score. Both of them contributed it to good genetics. So let’s talk about that. My mom had osteoporosis (she now has osteopenia thanks to OsteoStrong) and my sister, who is younger than me and who works out more than I do has osteopenia. So it’s not genetics. It’s the type of exercise you do to trigger osteoblastic activity in the body that is important for bone health.

In fact when I got my bone scan, I have not been very active at all. I recently in the last couple of months started working out more consistently to drop the baby weight. Not every workout is enough load to really trigger bone growth.

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear at OsteoStrong is:

“But I’ve worked out my whole life… how do I still have osteoporosis?”

The truth is — not every workout creates enough load through the skeletal system to stimulate bone growth. Many people are incredibly active, strong, and healthy, but bone responds to a very specific type of trigger.

At OsteoStrong, our osteogenic loading machines are designed to safely apply strategic force through the body to help stimulate the natural bone-building response. It’s not about doing hundreds of reps or spending hours in the gym — it’s about the right amount of force in the right way.

Every session is guided one-on-one by a session coach, and the computerized biofeedback screen lets you see in real time exactly how much force you’re producing during each movement.

We love helping people understand that exercise is amazing for overall health — but bone growth requires a very specific stimulus. 🦴
