Hi everyone!
I’m Kim Wright, LCSW, owner of Kim Wright Wellness.

I’m currently accepting new clients for virtual therapy for adults 18+ in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

A lot of people don’t start therapy because everything is “falling apart.”
Sometimes it’s because they’re tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, unmotivated, or unsure how to move forward.

Sometimes you just need a new perspective... someone outside of your usual circle, outside of the echo chamber, and outside of the people who already know the “role” you usually play.

Therapy can give you space to slow down, hear yourself more clearly, and look at things differently.

My approach is warm, honest, supportive, and interactive. I’m not a silent nod-and-smile therapist.
I show up with you, ask thoughtful questions, offer practical tools, and help you better understand what’s getting in the way.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship and communication stress, identity exploration, self-esteem, life transitions, personal growth, and sex/intimacy concerns.

My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming of people in nontraditional relationships, identities, and life paths.

“Got it done. Died anyway.”

Too dark?

Probably...
But that's kinda the point.

The house was clean.
The errands were done.
The laundry was folded.
The inbox was handled.
The list was checked off.

And then what?

A lot of us are moving through life like rest, fun, connection, pleasure, and ease are things we only get to have after everything else is finished.

But everything is never finished.

There will always be another load of laundry.
Another email.
Another bill.
Another appointment to schedule.
Another thing to clean, fix, return, organize, remember, or deal with.

And I think a lot of people get stuck here... I know I do.

Not because they’re lazy.
Not because they don’t know how to relax.
But because relaxing feels irresponsible when there are still things that “should” be done.

So we tell ourselves:

“I’ll rest after I finish this.”
“I’ll go out once the house is clean.”
“I’ll enjoy myself when I’m caught up.”
“I’ll make plans when I’m not so tired.”

But then we spend the whole day trying to earn rest… and by the time we’ve “earned” it, we’re too exhausted to actually enjoy anything.

This is not about pretending responsibilities don’t exist.

It’s about noticing when responsibility has become the thing that is quietly eating your life.

Because some people really are living differently.

Some people leave the dishes and go for the walk.
Some people let the laundry sit and meet the friend.
Some people rest before they are completely depleted.
Some people do not treat their entire life like a task list they have to complete before they are allowed to be human.

And maybe that’s the part worth paying attention to.

Balance does not always mean doing less because you stopped caring.

Sometimes balance means letting something stay unfinished because YOU MATTER TOO!

The goal is not to become careless.

The goal is to stop treating joy, rest, connection, and pleasure like rewards you only get when you have nothing left to give.

Something to ask yourself today:

What am I postponing until “everything is done”?
And what would happen if I let myself have a little bit of life before the list was finished?
