Randy attended Vincennes University where he earned an Associates Degree majoring in Funeral Service Education. He also received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Southern Indiana with a major in Health Services. Randy al

so holds an insurance license. He is a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and is a member of and supports many service and fraternal organizations in the greater Monticello area. He is passionate about his calling and is devoted to the communities and the families he serves. Kathryn Springer, Randy's wife, assists families with many things including preneed funding, and she holds an insurance license for this purpose. Kathryn earned a Bachelors Degree in Management and Administration from Indiana University and a Masters Degree in Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Much of her time is spent side by side with Randy in the day to day operations, and she strives to ensure the comfort of the families they serve. Guy Curtis Poore

Guy Curtis Poore, 68, of Burnettsville, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on October 23, 1957 in Lafayette to the late Guy Otto and Harriett (Rhoda) Poore. On December 3, 2011 he married Julia Barnard at Lake Cicott. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2022.

He had worked at Monon Trailer and later did home repair. He also sold sweet corn in front of O'Reily's in Logansport. Guy enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing, woodworking and playing guitar. He played in several private garage bands. He was quite the ladies man and loved to flirt. Guy cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.

He attended Grace Community Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by five children, Brook (Allen) Crist of Monticello, Mindy (James) Boehme of Lake Cicott, Guy C. (Jill) Poore, II of Idaville, April (Leroy) Jones of West Unity, OH, Carmen (Rob) Hofmann; sister, Donna Poore of Monticello; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his father and wife, Julia, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Poore.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.

Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello Veteran Honor Guard. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Marcia Brooks

Marcia A. Brooks, 72, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at her residence with her loving husband, Don by her side.She was born on June 18, 1953 in Indianapolis to the late John and Rosemary (Ronsheim) Scales. On January 3, 1976 She married Donald Nelson Brooks at the Meridian Street United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.

Marcia was a 1971 graduate of Broad Ripple High School received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue and Master’s degree from the University of Evansville. Marcia served as coordinator of the Crisis Center in the Evansville area. Marcia co-owned Brooks Pharmacy with Don. As an active member of the Monticello United Methodist Church Marcia served as Director of Children’s Ministries. Her greatest joy was “telling children about Jesus.” Miss Marcia taught Sunday School, shared The Message for All Ages during Sunday services, and was an adult leader of Senior High Institute church camp. Marcia was on the founding committee for the Garden Center Daycare. She led chapel time for the Garden’s preschoolers.

Besides church Marcia loved driving boats and pulling skiers, which she had been doing since she was a child. Additionally, she enjoyed sewing, antiquing, and organizing everything.

In addition to her husband, Don, she is also survived by son, Adam Brooks of Lafayette, daughter; Ashley Lauren Brooks of Lafayette; brothers, John (Rebecca) Scales of Boise, ID. Tom (Sarah) Scales of Frisco, TX; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, June 5, 2026 at Monticello United Methodist Church and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Services celebrating Marcia’s life will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 6th, at the church with Pastor Justin Cason officiating.

Private burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello United Methodist Church to be used for Children’s Ministries. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Robert "Bob" L. Cunningham

Robert L. "Bob" Cunningham, Sr, 82, of Monticello passed away early Saturday morning, May 23, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 25, 1944 in Lafayette to the late Duane and Grace (Scowden) Cunningham. His marriage was to the former Joan E. Redden. They were united in marriage in Chestertown, Maryland on April 6, 1963 and they just celebrated sixty-three years together.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former member of the Battleground United Methodist Church. He worked as a maintenance technician for S.E.W. Friels Cannery for many years in Queenstown Maryland. He retired from Indiana Packers in 2006 as a maintenance technician. He was a jack of all trades. He built homes, did electrical, and plumbing. He loved to tinker and was a talented and knowledgeable auto mechanic.

He was a member of the American Legion Caroline Post 29 in Denton Maryland, Fraternal Order of the Eagles 2570 of Monticello, and was a former member of the Moose formerly of Monticello.

In addition to his wife, Joan of Monticello, he is survived by his children, Robert (Rhonda) Cunningham of Denton Maryland, Brenda (Rev. Russ) Alley of Monticello; thirty-four grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Bryan Edward Cunningham and Tony Anthony Cunningham, a grandson, and a great grandson.

Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm (EDT) on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.

Services celebrating Bob's life will follow at 7pm (EDT) at the funeral home commencing with military rites.

Memorial contributions are encouraged to the Monticello Veteran Honor Guard. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
