Magnolia hydrosol and incense cones! 💚🤌🏻
I've been wanting to try this for a few years now and every season I miss my opportunity! But not this year 😊 this year I had to make it happen.
These are Magnolia blossoms that I harvested and then distilled some and dried some. The hydrosol turned out lovely and the dried powdered blossoms have an equally incredible aroma, especially immediately after grinding them. I used the hydrosol as the wetting agent and made pure Magnolia Incense cones 😍
The smoke is nice, not the same as the fresh blossoms but still fragrant and appealing. I am going to make another batch using Makko powder from my friend Tyler Gillen, hopefully this will help it stay lit and burn longer.
I think also I am going to infuse some of the powdered blossoms into a carrier oil for massage use or to make salve with...I want to get into natural perfumery eventually, one day, when I have a bit more free time 🙄
Have you ever worked with Magnolia? What else should I try with my remaining hydrosol and dried blossoms?
