Over the weekend we partnered with North Cascade Cares, North Cascade Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cascadia Surgical, Cascadia Eyewear, Inc. and EyeWitness Missions to host our annual Free Vision Clinic. It was a wonderful reminder of what community is all about and it was wonderful to be able to use our skills to help our un- and under-insured neighbors who don't have access to good eyecare. We’re so thankful to our team, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this day possible!

Caring truly goes beyond the clinic walls. Thank you for being part of it!

For someone with cataracts, nighttime vision can look very different. Lights may appear blurry, hazy, or surrounded by glare and halos, making nighttime driving especially challenging.

If you’re noticing increasing glare from headlights, difficulty seeing road signs, or less confidence driving at night, it may be time to have your vision evaluated. Clearer vision can mean greater confidence behind the wheel.

We'd like to welcome Kristin Colonna, OD, to Cascadia Eye! This comic may be exaggerated, but the risk is real: about 1 in 3 contact lens wearers admit to sleeping in their contacts. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, sleeping in contact lenses can increase your risk of eye infections by 6 to 8 times. Overnight lens wear reduces oxygen reaching the cornea and increases the risk of serious problems such as eye infections, corneal ulcers, and even permanent vision damage.

If your contact lens routine is difficult to maintain, ask your eye doctor whether daily disposable lenses or extended-wear contacts may be right for you. Or, for a longer term solution, LASIK may help reduce or eliminate your dependence on contacts.

Have questions about which option is right for you? Schedule an appointment with our team. We're happy to help!
