Today, we celebrate Iyabo Yusuf as she retires after an incredible 50-year career in nursing, including four dedicated years as Wartburg’s Director of Nursing.

Iyabo’s career has taken her around the world, caring for countless individuals along the way. We are grateful for her leadership, compassion, and commitment to our residents and team.

Congratulations, Iyabo, on an extraordinary career and a well-deserved retirement! 💜💐

We are incredibly proud to see the Sisters who call Wartburg home featured in today’s The New York Times article, “The Nuns Who Took Over an Assisted Living.”

Their presence at Wartburg is something truly special. They bring with them a lifetime of faith, service, wisdom, humor, friendship, and community — enriching not only one another’s lives, but the lives of our residents and staff every day.

We are honored that they chose Wartburg as their home and grateful for the spirit and joy they bring to our campus.

Congratulations to the Sisters on this wonderful recognition. We couldn’t be prouder to have you as part of the Wartburg family!

As convents are closing all over, the sisters are facing the end of their lives together — and they have brought the party to an assisted living center in the suburbs.

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments happen in unexpected places. ❤️

When one of our rehabilitation patients realized he would be unable to travel to his son’s wedding due to his health, our team was honored to help bring the celebration to him.

Surrounded by close family and friends, the couple exchanged their vows in an intimate ceremony here at Wartburg, followed by lunch and wedding cake. The celebration even brought smiles to fellow residents, who were delighted to congratulate the bride, take photos with her, and share in the wedding cake with family and staff.

At Wartburg, we’re privileged to care for our residents’ health—but it’s just as important to help them be present for life’s most treasured moments.

Congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special day. 💜

Last week, the Wartburg and ArchCare communities came together to celebrate and thank David Gentner for more than 20 years of dedicated leadership as President & CEO.

Today marks his final day with us.

His impact on our residents, families, and staff is lasting - shaped by compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to our mission.

We are grateful for all he has given to Wartburg and wish him the very best in his next chapter. You will always be part of the Wartburg family. 💜

🍀 This Employee Appreciation Day, we took time to celebrate the incredible individuals who make Wartburg such a special place to live and work.

From early mornings to late nights, our team shows up with compassion, dedication, and heart - making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve every single day.

Today was all about recognizing this team. Whether it was sharing meals, enjoying surprises, or simply saying “thank you,” we hope every team member felt just how valued they are.

We are truly lucky to have such an extraordinary team. 💚

We were delighted to welcome students from Colonial School of Pelham — including two brothers who proudly delivered together — to our Skilled Nursing community to share handmade Valentine’s cards and warm wishes with our residents and patients. ❤️

This special visit is part of an annual collaboration between Colonial’s kindergarten and 5th grade classes. The students create the cards together and even design and build the beautiful mailbox used for delivery — making the experience even more meaningful.

The smiles, conversations, and heartfelt moments shared that day truly brightened our campus.

Thank you, Colonial School, for your creativity, kindness, and for spreading so much joy to our residents! 💌

Wartburg is proud to serve as the host site for the Mount Vernon Lions Club Annual Peace Poster Contest for the third consecutive year.

This year’s theme, “Together As One,” inspired 25 talented students from Our Lady of Victory School and the Denzel Washington School of the Arts to create powerful works of art centered on peace, kindness, and unity.

Their inspiring posters are currently on display at Wartburg, bringing color, creativity, and an important message of hope to our campus community.

We were honored to host the awards ceremony on Saturday, January 31, welcoming students, families, members of the Mount Vernon Lions Club and Arts & Culture Society, local dignitaries, as well as Wartburg residents and staff.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful community partnership such a success. Together, we truly are stronger as one.

Our family is growing in Westchester! We are pleased to share that Wartburg is becoming a vital part of the ArchCare ministry. By integrating Wartburg’s historic 34-acre campus in Mount Vernon into our system, we are significantly expanding our ability to serve the seniors and families of Westchester County.

This integration brings together a wide continuum of care—including skilled nursing, memory care, and affordable senior housing—all unified under our mission to provide compassionate, community-based support. For the thousands of people we care for daily, this means deeper resources and a stronger, more connected system dedicated to the well-being of every individual we serve.
