We celebrated Father’s Day a little early at The Ohio Eastern Star Home by honoring the wonderful fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who are such an important part of our community.
Our male residents were joined by family members and friends for lunch filled with warm conversation and cherished memories. It was a wonderful opportunity to honor these remarkable men.
We are grateful to all who joined us in making the day so meaningful. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads—we celebrate you today and every day!

When residents at The Ohio Eastern Star Home feel inspired to bring out their inner musicians, it's time for a jam session!
Our Life Enrichment Team gathered buckets and sticks, tambourines, triangles, bongo drums, shakers, bells, and more—and before long, a band was born. As favorite songs played through the speakers, residents joined in, keeping the beat and making music together.
The afternoon featured some special performances, including a drum solo by Bob and a vocal solo by Polly that had everyone smiling. Many residents sang along, toes were tapping throughout the room, and laughter and music filled the air.
It's amazing how music brings people together, sparks memories, and creates joy. What a fun way to spend the day at The Ohio Eastern Star Home!

It's always a good day for a game of lawn darts . . . especially when it's shared with friends!
Residents at The Ohio Eastern Star Home recently enjoyed some friendly competition outdoors as they took aim, cheered each other on, and shared plenty of laughs along the way. Activities like lawn darts are more than just fun—they help keep residents active, engaged, and connected while making the most of beautiful days.

The Ohio Eastern Star Home had an unforgettable visit when we welcomed Traveling Acres Petting Zoo from Bellville, Ohio, for a fun and educational animal experience.
The demonstrators did a wonderful job teaching residents about the Armadillo, Wallaby, African Fox, a Sloth and a 9-week-old bunny that will eventually grow to nearly 90 pounds, focusing on each animal’s unique features, behaviors, and natural habitats. Residents especially loved getting an up-close look at some of the smaller species and learning fascinating facts along the way.
There was lots of excitement throughout the visit. Experiences like these create meaningful moments and bring so much joy to our residents. Thank you to Traveling Acres for sharing these incredible animals with us!

Some days, it’s simply the right thing to do to sit outside in the sunshine with a glass of lemonade, enjoy the fellowship of friends, and watch the wildflowers begin to bloom.
That’s exactly what happened this week at The Ohio Eastern Star Home on a beautiful 72-degree day. Residents gathered in the courtyard to soak up the sunshine, share stories and laughter, and enjoy the simple pleasures that make life so meaningful.
Moments like these remind us that community, friendship, and a little fresh air can brighten any day. Spring is definitely in bloom here at The Ohio Eastern Star Home!

We certainly didn't forget the mothers out there. Our life enrichment staff work hard at making sure they are celebrated. Even though home may look different for them here living with us in community, honoring them and making a day about them hasn't changed. The day was celebrated with a tea, refreshments, and live piano for residents and their guests.
