⭐️ Meet The Team at Legacy Options ⭐️

Michael Hoyt | Owner/Partner, Funeral Director

As a Partner at Legacy Options Funeral and Cremation Services, Michael Hoyt oversees company wide operations while helping ensure every family we serve receives compassionate, professional, and dignified care.

Michael’s career in funeral service began while he was still in high school in his hometown of Amesbury, Massachusetts. It was there, working at a local funeral home, that he discovered funeral service was more than a profession. It was a calling to help others during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Michael went on to graduate Cum Laude from the New Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston in 1988 and received his Massachusetts Funeral Director license in 1990. He spent years serving Boston area funeral homes alongside his father in law, Michael C. Whyte.

In 1998, Michael and his wife, Carla, moved to Martha’s Vineyard, where he managed the island’s funeral home and became deeply involved in the community. His leadership included serving as President of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard, Chair of the Oak Bluffs School Committee, and Vice Chair of the All Island School Committee.

In 2018, Michael and his family relocated to Naples, Florida, where he once again partnered with his father in law at Legacy Options Funeral and Cremation Services. Today, Michael is a licensed Funeral Director in both Massachusetts and Florida, bringing decades of funeral service experience and leadership to the Legacy Options team.

Today, we join our community in mourning the loss of Deputy K-9 Dundee with the Lee County Sheriff's Office who passed away in the course of his duties. May his handler, family, and fellow law enforcement officers find comfort and peace during this tough time. Rest peacefully, Dundee, and thank you for your dedicated service.

Bryan J. Ellison is a dedicated Funeral Director and Embalmer with 15 years of experience serving families during some of life’s most difficult moments. He joined the Legacy Team in 2026, bringing with him a wealth of experience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to providing exceptional care.

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Bryan attended the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in both Florida and New York. Throughout his career, Bryan has made it his mission to provide personalized, compassionate care while honoring the unique needs, traditions, and cultures of every family he serves. He takes great pride in helping families navigate the funeral process with dignity, understanding, and respect.

Bryan’s passion for funeral service extends beyond his professional responsibilities. He believes that being present for families during their greatest time of need is both a privilege and a responsibility, and he strives to ensure that every family feels heard, supported, and cared for. Bryan was also a member of Chabad in Ewing, New Jersey, reflecting his connection to and appreciation for the Jewish community and its traditions.
