After years of being a doula I saw a trend… a pattern…

Godly women were walking into birth not understanding their Godly authority.

We can teach advocacy all day to our clients, but we need to be teaching them God’s design for birth and God’s design for THEM as mothers.

I do not just see the mom in front of me but the generational change she has the power to bring simply because she became a mother and walks in Godly authority.

Born 2 Bloom was birthed out of this.
It dives deep into scripture, God’s design, and how you can walk in the authority He has given you.
It talks about the spiritual side of birth and the calling God has on us as women of the Kingdom and as mothers.

I’m crouched in front of a laboring mama on the toilet.

She’s in the throes of labor, close to transition.

This is where heaven meets earth and we all feel that thin space.

It’s in the thin space that she’s reaching.
I often see moms hit this place and immediately feel that pull of fight or flight. To stay means to push through, so they begin to verbalize wondering if there’s a way out.

When they open their eyes I want them to find me like this.
I’m grounded, steady, sure that her body knows what to do because God designed it. I trust Him and His design.
I am not worried, not rattled by this part of labor.

Sometimes there can be such relief to look up at your support team and realize they all are trusting and believing in you and your body’s ability to move through this process.

This is a piece of my heart behind my work — mamas being held, encouraged, and reminded of how their Creator made them 💗

I saw enough stories of moms feeling unseen during Mother’s Day and it got me thinking about how much mom’s long to just feel valued.

The girls and I hit the jackpot with you.
You love us quietly, faithfully, consistently - we are so blessed.

One of my favorite things is knowing our girls will never have to question if mom and dad love each other. They see it every day — in the small things, the big things, and every time they yell “LOVEEYYYY DOVEYYYY KISS KISS” when we show even the tiniest bit of PDA.

Thank you for working hard, making us laugh, always being up for cuddles, and being the calm to all my chaos 😅

Watching you be my husband and THE best daddy will forever be one of my favorite things.

Love you big. Happy birthday, babe 🎉

As a doula, I believe one of the best ways I can come alongside other mamas is by educating myself and continuing to grow and learn even in my own work.

Birth doesn’t change, but learning the intricacies, refreshing my memory on certain things, and reading through birth stories all have been helpful in offering well rounded support from prenatal to postpartum 💕
