There are some new faces around here, so I wanted to introduce myself đź’—

My name is Amanda. I’m a Bible believing mama to two beautiful girls and my husband and I have been married for over ten years.

After the two very different births I had, I trained to become a doula.

Teaching mothers how to go back to Biblical basics when it comes to birth is near and dear to my heart because I have seen it transform so much within mothers and their births.

Between the hundreds of births I’ve attended and my heart for the Kingdom of God I created Born to Bloom - an in depth birth course that breaks down God’s design for birth and your God-given authority.

Outside of birth work, I love simple things like nature and chai.

I’m also feeling very ready for the sahara humidity to go and fall temps to settle in.

Thanks for joining my little corner of the internet 🤩

Someone asked me recently if the majority of my clients are home birth clients.

Most of my mamas opt to have their babies in the hospital.

GASPPPP.. you mean you’re a holistic doula who offers hospital support?

A resounding yes. Why? It’s often the mamas in hospital birth settings that need the most support.
There are many reasons why a mom chooses this route for birth and she won’t be receiving any judgement from me.

I truly believe birth has become an idol and at times performative.

Part of being a provider is offering solid, research-backed education for clients and then trusting the decision they make in regard to where they opt to have their babies.

I’m asked more times than I can count “do those birth comb thingy’s work?”

While yes, I have seen them work, I have found better outcomes with these.

Your brain cannot give its full attention to pain happening in two places of the body at the same time.

Having mamas gently hold / squeeze these during a contraction helps alleviate some of the focus on the discomfort and allows them to move through more steadily.

One of the top things moms say to me might surprise you…

“I’m not a very touchy person, I’m not sure I’ll want to be touched during labor.”

What I often find is these same mothers are the ones who are some of the best communicators during the birthing process AND the ones who ask for things like counter pressure, back massage, and hip squeezes.

Birth surprises us. Often the very thing we think we won’t need we do and the things we think we will utilize the most, we hardly use at all (I see this with birth pools often).

It’s why it’s important to stay grounded in your non-negotiable’s and flexible in the rest.

What’s one thing you really liked or disliked that surprised you during labor?

I grew up with Dolly playing in the background. My mom was raised on a farm, and Coat of Many Colors was a staple in our house.

I didn’t grow up in Tennessee, but after 17 years of calling it home, I’ve come to appreciate Dolly differently.

Her hustle. Her JOY. Her faith. Her class. She became an absolute icon without needing to make anyone else smaller along the way.

But what gets me most is how she used what she was given.

Money never seemed to sit on the throne of her heart. She knew Who she served. She worked hard, built something extraordinary, and then gave and gave and gave.

Dolly never had babies of her own, yet her generosity has touched generations of children. My own girls have discovered some of their favorite books because of her.

Her legacy reached all the way into my living room.

Gah. That’s a life well lived.

May we love fiercely, work hard, know Who we serve, and through all the building and dreaming, keep the main thing the main thing.

Rest well, Dolly 🦋🤍

2026 availability update (and it’s a good one) 👀

One of the things that is hardest about my job is turning people down when I book up.

By God’s grace I was able to add a few wonderful doulas to my team who truly carry the same heart and vision I’ve had for mamas and families.

When you go to book, you can now choose which doula you’d like to be on your team.

Because of these wonderful ladies, there are now a couple of remaining spots in September and additional spots open for the remainder of 2026 đź’—
