Q. What are the signs that primitive reflexes might be retained?
A. Retained primitive reflexes can show up in everyday life in ways many parents may not immediately connect to the nervous system.

Children with retained reflexes may struggle with coordination, balance, posture, focus, handwriting, sitting still, sensory sensitivities, emotional regulation, or feeling easily overwhelmed. Some children may also appear clumsy, avoid certain movements, become frustrated quickly, or have difficulty with reading, writing, or school tasks.

These signs are not about a child being lazy or difficult. They may be the nervous system’s way of showing that the body is still relying on early movement patterns that should have integrated over time.

At Motion360 Therapy, we look more deeply to understand how the nervous system supports your child’s development—so they can build more confidence, calm, coordination, and success in everyday life.

Compassion is more than kindness—it’s how people feel seen, heard, and supported.

When families are navigating emotional challenges, sensory struggles, focus difficulties, or physical setbacks, compassion creates space for progress without shame. It reminds us to listen with patience, respond with empathy, and celebrate every step forward, even the small ones.

At Motion360 Therapy, compassion guides the way we care. We meet each person and family where they are, honor their journey, and provide support that helps them feel empowered, understood, and never alone.

Sometimes after-school meltdowns aren’t just about behavior, tiredness, or “having a bad day.” For some children, the school day can be exhausting because their eyes, brain, and body are working extra hard to keep up.

When visual processing, focus, coordination, or nervous system regulation are challenged, reading, writing, sitting still, and paying attention can feel overwhelming. By the time they get home, frustration may show up as moodiness, irritability, tears, or shutting down.

At Motion360 Therapy, we look deeper to understand what may be causing the struggle—and help children build the skills they need to feel calmer, more confident, and more successful.

If your child often comes home from school upset, frustrated, or drained, we’re here to help.

Primitive reflexes are meant to support early development — but when they remain active, the nervous system may continue operating in a low-level survival state. 🧠
This can show up in the body, sensory processing, emotional regulation, transitions, attention, and everyday functioning.
At Motion360 Therapy, we take a whole-body, whole-brain approach to support development from the foundation up. ✨

Stories like this are why we do what we do. 🤍

At Motion360 Therapy, progress is not always just about exercises — it is about connection, consistency, confidence, and helping each client believe that meaningful change is possible.

This family came to us after multiple attempts to find the right support for their daughter, who was navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, ADHD, and mild autism. After three months in the Motion360 program, they began seeing a major shift in her ability to regulate her emotions, participate more fully in daily life, and continue growing at home, in college, and at work.

We are so grateful for the trust our families place in us, and so proud of every client who shows up and keeps moving forward. ✨

Primitive reflexes are often talked about as “baby reflexes,” but their impact goes far beyond infancy. 🧠
These early movement patterns help build neural pathways, support sensory processing, guide motor milestones, and signal cortical maturation. When reflexes are not fully integrated, children may continue to rely on primitive movement patterns that can affect coordination, balance, attention, regulation, and learning readiness. 🌱
At Motion360 Therapy, we use a whole-body, whole-brain approach to support development from the foundation up.
Have you heard of primitive reflex integration before? 👇..

🧠 Did you know your brain's first "operating system" was installed before you were even born?

Primitive reflexes begin developing as early as 5 weeks in utero and play a critical role in helping babies survive, move, learn, and develop. These automatic movement patterns are designed to lay the foundation for higher-level skills by building the brain from the bottom up.

As children grow, these reflexes should naturally integrate, allowing the thinking brain to take over and support focus, coordination, emotional regulation, and learning.

When primitive reflexes remain active beyond infancy, they can sometimes contribute to challenges with:
• Attention and focus
• Balance and coordination
• Posture and motor skills
• Big emotions and anxiety
• Auditory processing
• Difficulty with transitions
• Sensory sensitivities
• Learning and behavior

🌿 Understanding primitive reflexes is often the first step toward understanding the "why" behind many everyday struggles.

👉 Save this carousel for future reference and follow Motion360 Therapy to learn how retained reflexes may be impacting development, behavior, and overall well-being.

Many children are diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, Autism, or other developmental challenges—but not enough people are asking an important question:
Why? 🤔

A diagnosis can help describe what a child is experiencing, but it doesn't always explain what may be contributing to the behaviors, learning struggles, sensory sensitivities, or emotional challenges behind it.

At Motion360 Therapy, we look deeper. We assess how the nervous system is developing and whether retained primitive reflexes may be interfering with the brain's ability to mature and function efficiently. When these foundational reflexes remain active, they can affect focus, emotional regulation, coordination, sensory processing, and learning.

Our goal isn't to focus on labels—it's to understand the underlying factors that may be making life harder than it needs to be and help build a stronger foundation for growth, confidence, and success. 🌿

If you've ever wondered whether there's more to the story than a diagnosis alone, we're here to help explore the possibilities.
