UPDATE: Elizabeth Diane Collins -- the 79-year-old Gulf Breeze woman with dementia -- was released from Santa Rosa County Jail this afternoon and transferred to the memory care facility Navarre Gardens.

The sheriff's office says she will now "receive the specialized care and support she needs."

Additionally, the state dropped her aggravated battery charge and closed her case.

In all, Collins spent approximately 10 days in jail.
