Does Your Progesterone Sample Look Like This?

Have you ever centrifuged a sample and noticed the serum looks thick, stringy, or almost jelly-like instead of clean and fluid?

If this happens, we recommend preparing a fresh sample before running your progesterone test. Fibrin or incomplete clotting may interfere with testing and affect the reliability of your result.

The good news? It can often be prevented.

If your progesterone system is approved for serum AND plasma, a green-cap lithium-heparin tube can help prevent clotting—and may even eliminate the normal clotting wait before centrifuging.

Just remember: not every progesterone test accepts plasma, so always check your test-kit instructions first.
