We’re making the most of these beautiful summer days with a little bit of everything our residents love—from strolls around the neighborhood and exciting museum adventures, to creative art programs, caring for our community garden, and special visits from our favorite mini horses! 🐴🌻🖌️🏙️

At 80th Street, we believe memory care doesn’t mean putting life on pause. It means finding meaningful ways to continue doing the things you’ve always loved, discovering new interests, staying connected, and creating moments of joy every day. ✨

Whether it’s exploring NYC, getting creative, getting our hands dirty in the garden, spending time with four-legged friends, or simply enjoying time together, there’s always something for everyone to look forward to.

Because life is meant to be lived—and at 80th Street, we’re making the most of every moment! 💕☀️

🌎🍴 Restaurant Weeks at 80th Street! 🍴🌎

This August, our residents took their taste buds on a delicious journey around the world—no passport required! ✈️❤️

🇬🇷 Greece ➡️ 🇵🇭 The Philippines ➡️ 🇲🇽 Mexico ➡️ 🇮🇹 Next stop: Italy! 🇮🇹

Each week brought a new cuisine, new flavors, and most importantly, new opportunities for joy, conversation, connection, and community. From sharing favorite foods and memories to discovering something completely new, our dining room became a place where food brought everyone together.

A very special thank you to our incredibly talented Aramark culinary team, whose chefs not only showcased their own cultural cuisines, but also shared their expertise and passion for dishes from around the world.

At 80th Street, every meal can be an experience—and this month, it was quite the adventure! 🌎✨

Buon appetito… Italy, we’re coming for you! 🇮🇹🍝❤️

Yesterday was one of our favorite days of the year—our Annual 80th Street Residence Activities Fun Fair! 🎉💙

Residents, families, and staff came together for an afternoon filled with laughter, games, smiles, and wonderful memories. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing Anne and Nancy from AddyCaring Play, who bring joy, creativity, and meaningful play to every floor every Friday, that brought all the games to our fair. Their dedication continues to make such a positive impact on our community.

This year’s Fun Fair was even more special as we welcomed incredible volunteers from CaringKind - The Heart of Alzheimer's Caregiving, who helped run each activity station, cheered everyone on, and made sure every resident received a special prize while making the most of the celebration.

A huge round of applause also goes to our outstanding Recreation Team, whose hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm made the afternoon such a success. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so memorable—we’re already looking forward to next year’s Fun Fair! 💙✨

Our Residents at 80th Street have been enjoying everything the summer season has to offer—from neighborhood walks, dance classes with Alvin Ailey, and visits to museums to singing together on our beautiful back patio and more! Every day is filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful moments.

While having fun in the sun, we’re also making sure everyone stays cool, comfortable, and well hydrated.

A lifetime of creativity deserves to be celebrated!

We're proud to share a retrospective exhibition of works by Adrian Bennett with displays showing how art has played a core role in all stages of his life. Mr. Bennett's story reminds us that creativity remains a powerful part of who we are, regardless of age or circumstance.

Mr. Bennett's works spans from detailed paintings, photography, poetry, bright colorwork, and flowing lines. His authentic and deep connection to his creative self is evident and inspiring to those around him, as displayed by our Aramark Team designing special cookies inspired by his works!

We are thankful we get to support, recognize, and celebrate the talents of the residents at 80th Street!

Today at ESAAL's 45th Annual Conference & Trade Show, we proudly celebrate and honor Wayne Kaplan, one of our owners of the 80th Street Residence, as he retires from the ESAAL Board after an incredible 40 years of dedication.

Wayne’s unwavering commitment, passionate advocacy, and tireless work have left a lasting impact on the Empire State Association of Assisted Living and the countless lives it serves. His leadership and achievements have helped shape the future of assisted living across the nation.

We are deeply grateful for his service and proud to recognize this remarkable milestone. Congratulations, Wayne, on a truly extraordinary legacy—and best wishes in your well-deserved retirement from the ESAAL Board!
