His paper, entitled "Simultaneous Bilateral LASIK: Safety and Efficacy", was published in the August 1999 issue of Ophthalmology. Too nearsighted for LASIK? You still have options. 👁️ Many patients are told their prescription is simply too high for LASIK, but that doesn’t mean glasses and contacts are your only options.

At Feinerman Vision, we often recommend EVO ICL for patients with moderate to high myopia, especially when LASIK would require removing too much corneal tissue or could compromise night vision quality. Unlike LASIK, EVO ICL works by placing a corrective lens inside the eye without reshaping the cornea, making it an excellent option for prescriptions that LASIK may not safely treat.

Not everyone is a LASIK candidate, and that’s a good thing. Thin corneas, dry eye risk, or a high prescription all have better answers. PRK treats the surface of the cornea with no flap, which makes it an option for mildly thin corneas and some patients prone to dry eye.

EVO ICL goes further: a Collamer® lens placed inside the eye, removing no corneal tissue at all, for thin corneas and high prescriptions that no laser can safely correct. And it’s reversible.
