Newtown Vet is an independently owned and operated small animal practice that leads with our hearts!

Newtown Vet Hospital is a comprehensive small animal practice dedicated to improving the quality of life for all pets by offering the highest quality medical, anesthetic, dental, and surgical care. We've made pain management a top priority by expanding our practice to include acupuncture, chiropractic, holistic and laser therapies, and even animal rehabilitation services. Our state-of-the-art facility was built in 2009 with pet and owner comfort in mind, and since then we have continued to update and improve it. Our doctors and staff are talented, kind, and devoted individuals, who share a common goal to provide compassionate and excellent care to our patients and clients.

Staff Spotlight...Let's get to know Tabitha!

Tabitha has been on our Newtown Veterinary Hospital team for over four years as one of our dedicated Veterinary Technician Assistants, a Surgical Assistant and the NVH Kennel Manager! She feels that one of her most rewarding roles is mentoring the kennel assistants as they develop their skills and grow in their careers. Tabitha is also proficient placing intravenous catheters for surgical patients and she enjoys assisting with dental procedures on our canine and feline patients.

Her commitment to veterinary medicine and education has led her to pursue her CVT licensure and she is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster program to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.

Tabitha shares her home with Crunch, her 10-year old tuxedo cat. She adopted Crunch about three years ago and manages his many medical conditions including HCM, kidney disease, IBD and chronic pancreatitis. He is such a lucky guy to have an educated and compassionate individual like Tabitha adopt him and become his person.

In her free time, Tabitha enjoys traveling, exploring restaurants and animal sanctuaries with her boyfriend and playing with Crunch.

WELCOME Dr. Kelly Sweeney!

We are very excited to share that Dr. Kelly Sweeney has joined our veterinary team at Newtown Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Sweeney has proudly called Bucks County home for more than 2 decades, where she raised her children and remains an active member of the community. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is bringing her extensive experience to the Newtown Vet Family.

She has a deep passion for both surgery and internal medicine, which allows her to provide comprehensive care to her patients. For Dr. Sweeney, the most important part of her work is building trust—not only with the animals she treats but also with their owners. She considers her patients and clients part of her extended family.

When she’s not caring for animals, Dr. Sweeney enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, hiking, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

Let's get to know...JENNIFER!

Jenn grew up in Langhorne and graduated from Neshaminy High School. Her father started the music program in Neshaminy where she grew up on the musical stage. After high school, she worked in the local community with mentally disabled adults until moving to San Diego, CA in 1991. Jenn’s career as a front desk receptionist began in San Diego while working for the America's Cup sailing team, America3. After winning the America's Cup in 1992, Jennifer was asked to return as the "Voice of America3" for the first all-women's sailing team competing for the Cup in 1995! She also sang the National Anthem for the christening of their racing yacht "Mighty Mary" which was attended by over 700 people including governors, senators and the Prince and Princess of Kent.
After getting married, Jennifer spent some time in Michigan before joining the Newtown Veterinary Hospital team in 2012. Today, she lives in the house where she grew up with her mom, Arlene, along with their two furry kids, Preston the Pug and Adelaide (Addie) the Tabby cat.
