Welcome, Shawna, Herell, as one of the newest members of the Board of Directors of the NRH Foundation!🎉

Shawna is the Director of Moore Norman Technology Center’s Health Program. She balances leadership, family, and volunteering with strengths in prioritizing, communicating clearly, and thoughtful decision making. Her volunteer activities include Cleveland Elementary PTA, NRHF Cocktail Clash, Tenaciously Teal, Hearts for Hearing, McFarlin United Methodist Church, and United Way. She hopes to make a difference by “strengthening NRHF scholarship programs that invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals and fostering community partnerships that improve access and long-term health outcomes.”

Did you know that we granted 20 blood glucose monitor kits to patients in need?

These kits are provided for patients with a medical need who are unable to purchase one themselves. The NRH Foundation is committed to supporting community health and wellness, enabling accurate communication with their healthcare providers to facilitate treatment.

💜 Welcome to the Norman Regional Health Foundation Board of Directors, Carla Atkinson! 🎉

Carla serves as the Family Engagement Coordinator with Norman Public Schools, a role that allows her to connect with families and make a difference throughout our community. Her commitment to service extends beyond her professional work, with volunteer involvement in organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, CASA, Virtue Center, and Norman Rotary.

Carla is passionate about strengthening our community and is excited to help the Foundation continue to grow and thrive while supporting Norman Regional and the vital role it plays in our community.

🎓💙 Meet Scholarship Recipient Alayna Kidd!

Alayna Kidd is pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse while working in Norman Regional’s PCCU and attending Oklahoma City Community College, where she is earning her Associate in Applied Science in Nursing.

Her passion for nursing began by watching her mom become a nurse and seeing the difference she made in others’ lives. After earning her EMT certification and spending three years caring for patients, Alayna knew she wanted to take the next step and serve patients in a hospital setting.

Alayna hopes to one day work in Labor & Delivery, Cardiology, or as a flight nurse, with a long-term goal of becoming a midwife.

💜Meet Foundation Board Member Lynn Weber🎉

For Lynn Weber, serving on the Norman Regional Health Foundation Board is personal.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, Lynn was invited to join the Foundation Board by fellow cancer survivor Margaret Pape. More than two decades later, Lynn continues to bring her passion for people and community to the Foundation.

One moment that has stayed with her happened through the Foundation-supported Little Smiles program. Lynn remembers a young girl receiving dental care and being given a new toothbrush. Her response? “Oh, now I don’t have to share a toothbrush.” That simple moment has stuck with Lynn as a reminder of the very real difference community support can make.

Outside of the Foundation, Lynn is a member of Norman Rotary and loves exploring food, w**e, art, and new places. Santa Fe is a favorite U.S. destination, Paris holds a special place in her heart, and the Adriatic is still on her bucket list.

When asked about her greatest accomplishments, Lynn named two things that say a lot about who she is: surviving step-parenthood and having the privilege of teaching on military bases around the world.

Lynn, we’re grateful for your heart, your perspective, and your many years of service to our community.
