Our turtle population is growing by leaps and bounds. The residents told us it must be mating season because the turtles are very active. Our resident turtle whisperer said that she fed the turtles an Oreo cookie. One turtle ate the cream out of the middle of the cookie, and another turtle ate the cookie. She saw the same turtles later that day and told them that she was out of cookies, and the turtles walked off mad. The stories about the turtles are priceless. Stay tuned for more turtle stories.

Help us welcome our newest residents, Melissa & Bella Rose! There is a lot going on in the community and Bella does not like to be left out. Bella came & played Bingo with us and had a good time. Melissa enjoyed playing also. Bella played Garbage with us and won a few hands. Both are having fun and making us laugh.

Our social hour included a peach tasting. We had peach juice, peach gummy candy, Welch's Mango peach fruit snacks, cream cheese & peach jelly and whole peach preserves that were homemade. The community loves peaches and is looking forward to more peaches since they are in season here.

Shout out and many thanks to our wonderful nurse, Lisa! She wears so many hats—too many to count. Lisa is helping everyone, every day and in every department. She has 30+ years of experience as a nurse, Born and raised in Georgia, she's a true Georgia peach. For the last 15 years, she has been living in South Carolina with her 3 fur babies. Lisa has two daughters and 3 grand babies. Loves gardening and vacations in the mountains. She is a true asset to the community, and we are lucky that she has picked to be a part of Brookdale North Augusta's team. Thank you, Lisa, for all that you do. You touch so many lives every day, and your never ending kindness warms the heart of each person you come in contact with. Lisa does an amazing job balancing all the incredible work she does. It takes a special person to be a good nurse, but we have a SUPERSTAR! We appreciate all that you do. Wishing you a happy National Nurses Week!
