Our residents created pumpkin wreaths. These took several hours for some to make, but look at the results! Fall is in the air!

Blast from the past day! We dressed from our favorite decade. Jean dressed from 70s, Joni from the 80s and Ron from the 20s. We nailed it!

We are celebrating Assisted Living Week. Today was Hat Day, and everyone - associates and residents - came wearing all kinds of hats. Oh, what fun it was to be in North Augusta today!

Decorating pumpkins for the start of fall. We did decoupage. We took napkins with pretty patterns and glued them to our pumpkins. Each person picked a pattern that spoke to them and made it their own. These were plastic pumpkins, so they will be around all season. This could be done with a real pumpkin, but we loved the white pumpkins and the real ones are not in the store yet. Beautiful, don't you agree?

Our residents made centerpieces for the dining room. For our Flavors of Fall event on the 17th we wanted something to reflect the season and made by the residents. This craft project was fabric and ribbon wrapped around bags. We gave lessons on bow making and shared some tips and tricks to get this fabric to took like a pumpkin. It took a minute, but we think they came out great.

The arts and crafts club met to make fall pillows.
We took double-sided placemats and ripped open a small seam and stuffed them with batting. They each made a pillow for themselves and one for the community. You will find these pillows throughout the community in about 2 weeks, when we will pull out all of our fall decorations! These ladies do a great job. Thanks to everyone for all the pillows!

Our newest residents attended their first bible study with Brian today. Lucretia and her faithful dog, Lilly, came for praise and worship. Lilly just loved the way Miss Fran played the piano and everyone sang. We are lucky to have so many who support the needs of the community. The residents help and support each other and really come through when someone needs assistance. Lilly doesn't do well when she is left alone. One of the residents offered her dog stroller, so Lilly could come, but Lucretia wasn't able to get Lilly in and push the stroller. The next best thing was to see if she would stay on the leash and in her lap. It worked! What a great day for all!

We had a new visitor to the community today. This was Sponge the Rough Collie's first time here! Sponge likes long walks, and he likes to eat ice cubes. He is 4 years old, intelligent, sensitive and loves his owner, Kathleen. Sponge is a world traveler and was brought here from overseas. Kathleen said that she will bring Sponge back for a visit in October! Thanks to everyone for sharing some love with the residents today.

Pastor Ken Cruz came to sing for the residents today. What a beautiful voice he has! You can hear this man's heart with every word he sings. So thankful that he came today, and we look forward to him coming back on Friday. Thanks, Pastor Cruz, for blessing us today.
