David Nelson Jourdan, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware.

Born on November 27, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Nelson R. Jourdan and Ella Morris Jourdan.

David dedicated his career to the automotive industry and took great pride in owning and operating Dave's Auto Sales in Rising Sun for many years before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, honest character, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Through his business, he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of countless customers and neighbors.

Outside of work, David enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid softball player, had a lifelong passion for Corvettes and street rods, and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, who were the center of his life.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Sue Jourdan.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Jennifer Coy (Matthew) of Rising Sun, Maryland; his son, Randal Paul Jourdan of Rising Sun, Maryland; his cherished grandchildren, Steven Jacob Coy and Adrienne Victoria Coy; his precious great-granddaughter, Ella Sue Coy; his brothers, Kenneth A. Jourdan of Newark, Delaware, James Howard Jourdan of Rising Sun, Maryland, and Russell Morris Jourdan of North East, Maryland; his sister, Suzanne Benjamin of North East, Maryland; as well as many extended family members, dear friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate David's life during a viewing on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland 21901.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Zion United Methodist Church, 239 England Creamery Rd. North East, Maryland, 21901, with Rev. Ken Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Sharps Cemetery in Fair Hill, Maryland.

David will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, unwavering devotion to his family, and the genuine friendships he cultivated throughout his life. His legacy of integrity, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a lasting source of comfort and love.

Kay Louise McLish, age 86, of Port Deposit, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Born on July 8, 1940, in Superior, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Peter Bernard Nelson and Margaret Louise Pankow.

Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael McLish; her parents; and her older siblings, William Nelson and Loretta Larson.

She is survived by her children, Steven Wimer and his wife Melinda, Jennifer McLish, and Todd McLish; her grandchildren, Timothy Wimer and his wife Samantha, Bradley Wimer and his wife Nicole, Samuel Roecker, and Violet Roecker; her great-grandchildren, Easton Wimer, Austin Wimer, Danielle Wimer, and Steven Wimer; as well as many dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Kay will be remembered for her warmth, easygoing nature, and cheerful spirit. Her kindness, love, and gentle presence touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to her caregivers and doctors for their compassionate support.

In accordance with Kay's wishes, no formal memorial service will be held. Instead, she asked that family and friends honor her memory by raising a toast in celebration of a life well lived.

Wanda M. Hendrickson, of North East, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 24, 2026. She was 85 years old.

Born on February 20, 1941, in Elkton, Maryland, Wanda was the cherished daughter of the late John N. Rea and Zora Mae Rea.

Wanda dedicated many years of her life to serving others. She worked at Harold's Restaurant in the North East until her retirement. After retirement, she spent her time as a homemaker and also spent many years at Spence's Lunch, where her warm smile, kind heart, and friendly conversations made everyone feel welcome. Through her work, she formed countless friendships and became a familiar and beloved face to so many throughout the North East community.

Above all else, Wanda's greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved and took great pride in watching her family grow through the generations. Her home was a place of love, comfort, and togetherness, and she found happiness in life's simple moments shared with the people who meant the most to her.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Truman E. "Tommy" Hendrickson; her beloved son, Thomas E. Hendrickson; her brothers, Rodney Rea and John Rea; and her sister, Audrey Siple.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her daughter, Lori A. Heath of North East; her grandson, William Cory Heath; her granddaughter, Kasie N. Shaffer; her brother, Richard Rea of Rising Sun; six adored great-grandchildren; and another precious great-grandchild expected to arrive soon. She is also survived by many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.

Wanda will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her generous spirit, and the quiet kindness she showed to everyone she met. Whether through a friendly conversation, a helping hand, or simply being there for those she loved, she made a lasting impression on the hearts of many. Her love, strength, and gentle presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who were blessed to know her.

Grace Emilie Lowe (Kraffert) passed away in the morning hours of July 23rd, 2026, at the age of 95 in Linwood, New Jersey. Grace was born in New York on the 21 st of September 1930 to Erich Kurt Kraffert and Amalie Wanda Kraffert. Her father, who had managed to survive WWI, immigrated to the US in 1921, where he met Wanda, a distant acquaintance from Germany. Grace was the first of three daughters. Her middle sister, Rose, passed away in 2019, but she is survived by her youngest sister, Alice Witterman.

Grace grew up on a small farm in Wyoming, Delaware. She attended Caesar Rodney High School and, afterwards, attended Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington. While working at Hercules, she met her husband, J. Warner Lowe. Grace and Warner raised their family of six children near Corner Ketch, Delaware. Grace not only raised six children and supported their many activities, but she also found time to work for the Census Bureau, engage in political advocacy for local candidates, supported both Pony Club and 4-H in leadership positions, all while supporting her husband’s construction business. She ended her career as an assistant in the Art History department at the University of Delaware.

Grace was an avid bridge player, often competing in local bridge clubs where she was a dominant player, often winning small awards. When she was not playing Bridge, she traveled the world to visit her far-flung children.

Grace and Warner moved from their small farm near Corner Ketch and split their time between Newark, Delaware, and Avalon, New Jersey. Grace enjoyed the beach, and she continued her involvement in local activities, working as a docent, participating in bridge clubs, and being involved with the Methodist Church, all while entertaining her Children and Grandchildren. She’ll be missed by all.

Grace will be remembered for her strength, intelligence, kindness, and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.

A service celebrating Grace’s life will be held on August 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD 21901. Family and friends may visit with the family beginning at 12:00 p.m. before the service.

Interment will follow at North East Cemetery with family.

A reception will be held afterward at 2:30 p.m. at VFW Post 6027, 815 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD 21901.

Michael Rennie Peters, age 61, of North East, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Christiana Care in Newark, Delaware.

Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, on November 21, 1964, he was the son of Dutton Peters and the late Louise Rutledge.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years. During his military service, he completed an overseas tour and was stationed at several duty locations throughout his enlistment. He carried the values of honor, commitment, and service with him throughout his life.

On June 9, 2000, Michael married the love of his life, Teresa J. Peters. While they celebrated 26 years of marriage together, their love story spanned 33 wonderful years, built on unwavering devotion, friendship, and countless cherished memories.

He was employed as a warehouse employee with General Electric, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic.

Michael found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially the moments spent with those he loved most. He and Teresa shared a passion for NASCAR and looked forward to spending many days together at Dover Downs, cheering on their favorite drivers and making memories that would last a lifetime. He was also an enthusiastic and loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan, faithfully supporting his team through every season.

Above all else, Michael was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, proud father, cherished grandfather, and loyal brother. His quiet strength, caring heart, and steadfast love will be remembered always by those fortunate enough to have known him.

In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa J. Peters; his daughter, Crystal Riggs and her husband, Michael; his treasured grandchildren, Mackenna, Talon, and Jaxson; two sisters, Susan Peters of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Ginger Morris and her husband, Tom, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and two brothers, Dave Peters and his companion, Diane Dazio, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and Steven Peters and his wife, Christine, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Rutledge; his stepfather, Herb Rutledge; his stepmother, Barbara Peters; and his brothers, Dutton Peters, Jr. and John Peters.

Michael’s life was defined not only by the years he lived but by the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. Whether enjoying the excitement of a NASCAR race, cheering on the Eagles each football season, or simply spending time with those he loved, he embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Barbara V. Worrilow, of North East, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at AccentCare Hospice at Christiana Hospital. She was 83.

Born on March 25, 1943, in Virginia, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Alfred W. Cloud, Sr., and Juana M. Cloud.

Barbara dedicated many years of her career to MBNA before retiring. Earlier in life, she proudly served as secretary to Sheriff Jack DeWitt. While she found fulfillment in her work, it was the simple joys of life that truly brought her happiness. She had a remarkable gift for creating beautiful things, whether through sewing, cake decorating, painting, or crafting. Barbara's creativity was matched only by her generous heart. She expressed her love through the thoughtful gifts she made, the time she shared with others, and the kindness she showed to family and friends. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring nature, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond R. Worrilow, who passed away on October 18, 2019; her cherished son, Raymond R. Worrilow, Jr.; and her sister, Debra Cloud Leight.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory, including her son, Brian G. Worrilow and his wife, Laura, of Elkton, Maryland; her grandsons, Nathaniel G. Worrilow and Petty Officer Second Class (MA2) Joshua E. Worrilow, United States Navy, currently stationed at Naval Base Kitsap, Washington; her sister, Dawn Blackburn; her brothers, Alfred "Al" Cloud, Jr. and James Wilkerson; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until the start of the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland.

Interment will be private.
