BFM Genealogical Research Professional genealogist and speaker who solves genealogical puzzles and teaches how to research. Holds Certificate in Genealogical Research, Boston University.

Specializes in family history compilation and colonial New England research. Member APG. Research projects and custom presentations take on almost any form as research needs are unique to each client. Genealogical projects range from family tree charts and heritage society applications to solving family mysteries. In addition to my catalog of current presentations, I design custom programs to address individual topics of interest for genealogy groups and societies. All services follow the industry's Genealogical Proof Standard as prescribed by the Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG). Uncovering a family's history is part science, part detective work, and part puzzle-solving. When all three parts come together, you will have a family history that helps you better understand who you are and where you came from. Your ancestors' stories, as they become a part of your own, will be a meaningful gift to share with family and pass on to future generations.

Coming soon to the blog: How to Use AI for Family History, a 5-part series for beginner and intermediate researchers.

Every lesson uses one simple prompt formula and two tracks, so you can work at your own pace. The big idea: treat AI like a research intern. It is quick and helpful, and it still needs your supervision.

What's ahead:

Well, Hello Again! (Yes, I’m Still Here)

If you’ve visited my website and noticed a bit of dust on the blog, don’t worry—your screen isn't playing tricks on you, and BFM Research didn't vanish into thin air!

Two years ago, a technology merger between Weebly and Square politely locked me out of my site's editor. Rather than fighting with locked digital doors, I kept my head down, focused on client work and speaking engagements, and took the scenic route to give the site a proper rebrand and proper housekeeping.

The good news? The new site is officially live, with a fresh coat of paint! While the blog was quiet, my passion for unearthing stories and diving deep into historical records never slowed down. I'm thrilled to be back sharing source lists, genealogy tips, and project updates right here.

Grab a cup of coffee and come see the new look:

One stormy Monday in March, 1827, the German composer Ludwig von Beethoven passed away after a protracted illness.

Many of Elena Palladino's home's most eye-catching elements had once been part of a house that stood in Enfield, one of four towns flooded nearly a century ago to create the Quabbin Reservoir.
