When I got to BTORA (Burbank Tournament of Roses Association) today, I thought I would be finishing the second pelican head. Found out that the heads were not carved to scale and the guys constructing the bodies said they needed to be trimmed down - by almost 12” height wise - and then proportionally trimmed all over. I started with the one that was “done” and then worked on the second. Did not get it finished before they shut down the ‘garage’ due to the heat. Oh well, next week. At least it’s supposed to be cooler.
