This Pride Month, we want to talk about something that doesn’t always get the spotlight: the power of being a safe person.
For so many in the LGBTQ+ community, mental health is deeply tied to whether they feel seen, accepted, and safe; at home, at work, at school, and in friendships.
Research consistently shows that LGBTQ+ individuals with even one supportive person in their lives have significantly better mental health outcomes. One person. That’s how much it matters.
So if you’re an ally, here’s your reminder: your presence is not passive. Checking in, speaking up, and simply saying “you’re safe with me” can change someone’s entire world.
To anyone in the LGBTQ+ community reading this: your feelings are valid, your identity is worthy of celebration, and you deserve support that actually feels like support.
To the allies: thank you for showing up. Keep going.
Mental health is for everyone. So is Pride. 🏳️🌈
