Oakland Acupuncture Project The purpose of Oakland Acupuncture Project is to make Chinese Medicine accessible by providing affordable community-centered health care.

All acupuncture treatments are individualized to meet your needs, and are performed in a quiet community space. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are currently working with erratic and limited hours. Please be patient with us while we are formalizing our schedule. Goodbye Laurel!!
Check out some pics from the last days at Laurel. The move was a lot of work, but we had fun unearthing some forgotten clinic gems. We also had a full circle moment when Whitney, who gave the first treatment at Laurel, ended up receiving the last treatment at Laurel! We will miss you 3576 Laurel Ave. You have been good to us for 18+ years.

We Have Moved to Grand!
For those who missed our previous announcements, we have permanently closed our Laurel clinic, and all acupuncturists are now working out of our Grand Ave clinic. Check out our blog for a lot more information: https://oaklandacupunctureproject.com/2026/03/closing-the-laurel-clinic/

Parking: There is metered street parking on Grand Ave. If you don’t mind walking farther you can sometimes find free 2 hour parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Please allow yourself extra time to find a parking spot before your appointment. The clinic does not have any patient parking spots on the premises.

Entrance: The entrance to the building is up a short driveway and 6 stairs. There is a railing on the stairs.

Door Code: The front door has a code to open it that will be listed in appointment confirmation emails. Please do not bang on the door if you cannot remember the code. We will check periodically if we are waiting for a patient who has not arrived.

This is determined by if you are dealing with mild issues, acute problems, severe pain, or chronic issues. For maintenance, coming in once a week to once a month is usually a good call. If you are dealing with a more acute or stubborn chronic situation coming in at least three times a week can work wonders! Everyone reacts to acupuncture a little bit differently. The most common feedback we get is that patients feel calm, peaceful, or maybe a little bit tired or heavy during or after a treatment. Sometimes the opposite is true though and patients report increased energy, energy movement, or digestive stimulation. These feelings are often combined with a reduction in pain, swelling, or other symptoms we are working on, though sometimes symptom changes are not immediate. For the most part patients leave feeling better than when they came in, but if this is ever not the case please let us know and we can adjust your next treatment.
