📚 Summer reading can change a child's life.
Some of my fondest childhood memories are split between days at the beach and afternoons at the local library. What I didn't realize at the time was that those books would help shape my future, inspire my career in nursing, and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Today, reading for pleasure among young people is declining, but parents, grandparents, educators, and communities can make a difference. Simple habits like library visits, bedtime reading, audiobooks, and letting children choose their own books can help build literacy, confidence, and imagination.
