Curious about cupping—but not sure what to expect? ✨
Cupping therapy uses specialized cups to create gentle suction, lifting the skin and underlying tissue. Depending on your individual needs, it may help ease muscle tension, encourage local circulation, support mobility and recovery, and promote relaxation.
During a session, you may notice:
• A deep pulling or tight sensation
• Warmth in the treated area
• Static cups or gentle gliding along the muscles
• Temporary circular marks afterward
Those marks can range from light pink to red or purple and commonly fade within several days to two weeks. While traditional interpretations associate different colors with different tissue responses, color can also be influenced by suction level, duration, placement, skin tone, and individual response.
That is why screening matters. Your clinician will consider your health history, medications, skin condition, sensitivity, current symptoms, comfort, and care goals before deciding whether cupping is appropriate for you.
