Skilled nurses who visit regularly, manage medications, and are available by phone every hour of every day. A social worker to help your family communicate, access community resources, and navigate financial or legal questions. "How much does hospice care cost?"

Here is the answer, and we want it to be very clear: No Home Hospice patient is ever turned away due to lack of insurance or inability to pay. No patient or family will ever receive a bill for services we provide.

Hospice care is primarily covered by Medicare Part A, and it is also covered by Medicaid and most private insurance plans. Our team can help you understand exactly what your benefits look like and walk you through everything step by step.

Home Hospice was honored to attend the Senior Summer Celebration at Stonegate Odessa, an event dedicated to raising awareness for Elder Abuse Prevention Month this June.

As a proud member of the planning committee, our team enjoyed the opportunity to educate the community about the valuable services provided through hospice and home health care while connecting with local seniors, families, and community partners.

The afternoon was filled with fun and fellowship, including bingo, karaoke, flower potting, a fashion show, door prizes, and a variety of vendors sharing resources and services available throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event such a success. Together, we can continue to support, protect, and advocate for our seniors while promoting awareness of elder abuse prevention.

A lot of families come to us saying the same thing: "I wish we had called sooner."
So let's talk about what hospice care actually is, because there are a lot of misconceptions that keep families from reaching out when they need us most.

Hospice is not giving up. It's choosing comfort, dignity, and quality of life when a serious illness is no longer responding to curative treatment. It's a shift in focus, from fighting a disease to making the most of the time that remains.

It means a skilled nursing team visiting regularly. Medications managed. Pain and symptoms controlled. A social worker helping your family communicate and navigate. A chaplain available for spiritual support. And a nurse on call 24 hours a day when you need answers and someone to lean on.

We were founded right here in the Permian Basin in 1995, not by a corporation, but by a local pastor who looked around and saw families struggling through one of life's hardest seasons without proper support nearby. More than 20 years later, we're still locally owned and operated, still CHAP accredited, and still run by people who live in the same communities as the families we serve.

We know your streets. We know your churches. We know that a West Texas family takes care of their own, and we feel honored every single time someone lets us walk alongside them.
