Today we celebrate the spark of curiosity and innovation in science, technology, engineering, and math by honoring our Medical Laboratory Technicians, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Phlebotomists, and our Tech Support teams! During the month of October, DLO celebrated Customer Service Week (10/7-10/11), and what an incredible week it was! The team kicked off the celebration with a fun-themed Pajama Day to truly showcase their team spirit. To make it even more special, they enjoyed a delicious potluck filled with everyone’s favorite dishes, fostering connections, and sharing laughs. And in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, they embraced cultural celebrations that reminded them of the diversity and richness within the team and community.

Customer Service Week wasn’t just about the festivities, but it was a time for the team to refocus on what they love most – serving you! They all signed a pledge to make a positive impact not just during the week, but every day of the year. In this role, you will lead the DLO Central Laboratory’s Specimen Processing, Ops Processing, Referrals, and Imaging Teams in a fast-paced production environment, reporting directly to the Central Lab Manager. As the Technical Processing Supervisor, you will be responsible for hiring, training, and managing the Central Processing Team.

Technical skills are essential, and a background in laboratory leadership roles, as well as experience in medical diagnostic operations or clinical laboratory operations, is preferred. Sign-on bonus included.

Throughout the month of October, our Patient Service Centers will be honoring National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by providing pink tourniquets for patients. This initiative was inspired by Sherri, a former hospital employee who worked with cancer patients before joining Quest Diagnostics. Three of her former lab colleagues had battled breast cancer, and in a show of support, Sherri successfully advocated for the hospital to use pink tourniquets for these patients. After joining Quest Diagnostics, Sherri encountered another cancer patient who reminded her of her former coworkers, prompting her to introduce the idea to our team. Sherri emphasized that pink tourniquets will always symbolize cancer patients and the opportunity to offer support to individuals visiting Quest and DLO Patient Service Centers who are “fighting a big battle in their life.” This meaningful gesture has now extended to over 2100 Patient Service Centers nationwide, where cancer patients can find comfort knowing they are not alone in their fight.

If you visit a DLO Patient Service Center or Draw Site, be sure to showcase your pink tourniquet using the hashtag . This will serve as a reminder to our loved ones fighting this disease that they have a strong support system and that we stand with them in this battle.

DLO was honored to serve as one of the Visionary Sponsor at this year's INTEGRIS Health Gala, where we continue to raise money in an effort to beat cancer. Together with our community, we raised over $725,000 to benefit the INTEGRIS Health Cancer Institute patients. Additionally, through the Passion Challenge, INTEGRIS Health collected donations that will provide patients with multiple free visits to the Troy and Dollie Smith Wellness Center, where they will receive holistic care, including massage, acupuncture, nutrition consultations, and more.
