Thank you Mayor Holt!

Today (3-21) is World Down Syndrome Day! I’m wearing my silly socks given to me by the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma. The Down Syndrome community wears silly socks on 3-21 because socks resemble chromosomes, and Down Syndrome occurs due to a third copy of the 21st chromosome.

“One OKC” means that all residents are included in our city’s story. I’m proud that in OKC, so many work to ensure that all residents have equal opportunity. And today is a day to celebrate the work of our Down Syndrome community!
